Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown ^^I agree to an extent. Obviously something needs to be done there. Maybe incorporating the existing facade into the design of the new tower somewhat...other than that the building is an underutilized waste of space and an eyesore.

Don't know if anyone posted about this yet... They have finally begun to disassemble the decrepit rundown building next to the Northern Avenue Bridge on the Fort Point. Crane loads of garbage one bucket at a time. Did not have a camera to grab some pictures but I'm sure we will see some soon...

Re: Russia Wharf Yes. The side facing the water is slanted all the way up. If you're walking down summer street neat the post office you can really see it.

Pelham - great post regarding development in the Seaport District. Shepard - "To say this another way, I wonder if the Seaport's promise is actually its downfall." I can agree that with massive projects, or region encompassing development, there are high expectations. That's one of the reasons...

^^I love it. Plus, the kids are having too much fun playing in the fountain now that the weather is nice, I think it is angering some residents in the area. The Greenway is great.

Re: Jimmy's Harborside Development I walked by there today...starting to look like something. One thing I did notice though is that the fish pier right there is pretty rank, especially this time of year. Don't know how well that is going to go over with outdoor diners.

Personally not a fan of this building...it's boring. It does nothing for me. I guess that's fine, it hides in the shadows of One Financial. I know that many people here like when a building can blend right into the urban fabric unnoticed, and that's exactly what this building achieves. I walk by...

Re: One Bromfield (28-story tower @ DTX) Not that I would ever agree to making Boston like Manhattan, and I know that Boston's uniqueness comes from being a leader not a follower, but I do agree that there is always room for improvement and it is important to look at other examples for comparison.

Re: One Bromfield (28-story tower @ DTX) ^I agree. I'll tell you what, I would rather see a tower there than a long choade (wider than tall) building that stretches the lengths of that block of Washington Street. The time it is going to take to get this tower built, is plenty for 45 Province...

I apologize in advance for the pessimism...I agree that once the crown is lit it will probably look amazing, but the lights will probably only last until leasing is done. I mean the city can't even keep the Zakim lit...
