Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District I agree, there was another proposal that was just as ugly as this tower but at least that one was 50% affordable housing.

    Nominations: ArchBoston ugliest buildings

This might be a little unpopular but I got to say I think this one is one of Boston's ugliest. Having gone to school around the time it was constructed only made it worse. MassArt Treehouse

Agreed, it's ugly and I personally don't like the way it's designed from a walking perspective. Those stupid double long stairs are annoying to walk down. I'd say now that the exit to mass ave is going to be removed, that they should do something better with that plaza but it will probably be...

Are you talking about sidewalk/plaza in front of the CVS? Yeah it looks like a sidewalk from above but that area is raised from the street and I've never had or seen anyone have a problem with mistaking that as a crosswalk.

He doesn't seem drunk in that post, am I missing something?

Winthrop Square Garage Demolition | Downtown

So I wasn't here when you made that rule and I respect the decision but I guess I just don't understand why it was made that way. Why would you specifically want to not put more information into the thread title? "Because we are not skyscrapercity" is a strange reason for not putting more...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

Re: Park Street loop and system capacity If I remember correctly the GL can't run more cars per train because it would draw to much power.

Porter Square Infill and Small Developments

Everyday after work the Star Market has lines in the aisles so I really hope Target sells food.

Porter Square Infill and Small Developments

Great news, Target will be a welcome addition to the Porter Square area. The space isn't that big I wonder how the selection will be.

    Amazon HQ2 RFP

This right here is the biggest issue hurting Baltimore. "The futre may or may not pan out." For a multi-billion dollar company the risk is too high to go to a city that "may" be on the up and up. If Baltimore continues downwards then Amazon would be moving their new HQ to a city that people want...

I agree with him, been surprised at how much people seem to like this project.

    Amazon HQ2 RFP

This seems like really bad timing considering the RFP. State takes Amazon to court over third-party tax records

    Amazon HQ2 RFP

Plus everyone is forgetting about the colleges in Worcester (specifically WPI). Massachusetts is not a big state, our second biggest city is only a 50 minute drive away. Lots of the students that go to the Worcester colleges end up moving to Boston for better job opportunities anyways.

    Amazon HQ2 RFP

If Amazon is eyeing medical sciences, wouldn't that be a huge plus for Boston? I not very knowledgeable in this area but doesn't Boston have some of the best hospitals/medical facilities in the country?
