Also, the plans are out from the GC for the Westerlea View Lofts project on Chestnut Street. It's a 7 story building with a footprint of approx 11,150 sq. feet. So that should be starting within the next couple of months.

I was told 3+ years ago by a very reputable Portland Commercial Real Estate/developer that Federated would likely never build anything at Midtown. Sadly, it appears that they were correct. Time for both Federated and the City of Portland to move on.

Maine Medical Center addition Phase 1 which is quite substantial. Bids from Subcontractors are due to Turner Construction on 02/28, so I believe construction of that phase will start within the next 6 months.

Yeh, if it's possible the City should move on from Federated and Jonathan Cox and look for a new developer. Federated has had their time to get something going down there and something needs to happen to that disgusting looking piece of property as it currently sits.

I am hearing that an office building/parking garage is likely to be going in at the lot diagonally across from the Civic Center. The office building would be on top of the parking garage and a portion of the parking garage may have to be below the ground.
