I stand corrected from my previous comment, the train was going under the speed limit so it was likely not an issue that PTC could have corrected.

Regarding Amtrak, we don't know exactly what caused it, but in a lot of these accidents positive train control would have prevented them. The MBTA has been putting in PTC on all of the commuter rail lines.

Sure it's technically mattapan, but the mattapan line serves wealthy neighborhoods in Milton just as much as it does Mattapan itself. It straddles the border between Boston and Milton.

I'm having a hard time differentiating the final two candidates on development. Both call for more comprehensive zoning and less ambiguity with the BPDA. Wu goes slightly further to propose abolishing the BPDA. Idea sounds good in theory but it depends on the execution.

A big part is that few developers in this environment are going to propose a new office tower, and the skyscraper market for residential isn't large.
