    Crazy Highway Pitches

If anything, autonomous vehicles will make highways more relevant and rail transit less so. Yes car ownership will decrease, but automobile usage will only increase. Ideally cost savings and eventually things like congestion taxes could push people towards carpooling and small buses to replace...

Regional New England Rail (Amtrak & State DOT & NEC)

The fifth round trip would just be reinstating the frequency that they had pre pandemic.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

Universal vaccine availability is only a few months away, it'll be interesting to see how quickly T ridership rebounds. And the an 11 percent reduction from fall 2019 levels is still an increase compared to current service levels.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Indy already has 2 carriers on it, including american which is now a code share partner.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Kansas city, st louis, and milwaukee are all served by only one airline to BOS and would be probable expansion targets for jetblue. Oklahoma city and des moines are two unserved markets that would make sense.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Distance wise Nashua is pretty comparable to Fitchburg, with a larger population than Fitchburg.

Housing (Supply Crisis & Public Policy)

I'm surprised that the zoning bill didn't get more attention. It's kinda a big deal to require suburbs to have urban zoning next to commuter rail stations.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

With the new development at Woburn Landing, Mishawum should be converted to a full time station.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

Fortunately there's another station a quarter mile away, so no real loss.

Housing (Supply Crisis & Public Policy)

Revere has a large immigrant and non-citizen population. I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't fully counted in this years census.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Along those lines, I wouldn't be surprised if JetBlue is planning to cut back LGA shuttle frequency and repurposing that capacity to leisure destinations post covid. Especially with the AA partnership giving JetBlue FF an option.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Airlines are betting that leisure travel will come back faster than business travel.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I'd suggest a blue line extension to Lynn on one side and Charles/MGH on the other. That combined with a people mover, or just movable walkways to control costs, would provide pretty good transit access to Logan.

Connected/Automated vehicles and infrastructure in Boston

The first fully automated vehicles will function like Ubers, with no personal ownership. Due to the economics of not having to pay a driver, it'll make car ownership obsolete for a large chunk of the population.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

A vaccine looks like it's coming very soon. It'll be interesting to see how fast air traffic comes back. It's kinda late in the game to be starting layoffs tbh.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Well the 737 Max is allowed to fly again.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Cheaper yes, but the RUR with rapid transit frequencies will help a much larger area. It would also provide better connections to Salem/Beverly. The whole section from downtown Beverly on in could support rapid transit. Salem, Beverly and Lynn have all been pretty supportive building dense...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Frankly, this came out much better than I thought it would from the renders.

Marine Wharf (Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites) | 660 Summer St | Seaport

Can I nominate this to the "worst developments of 2020" list?

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Merging the Downeaster and Northeast Regional might increase Maine/NH ridership a little bit, but it's a fairly small benefit compared to how NSRL would improve commuter rail.
