    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

Yeah, seems stupid. But I have to say, I never noticed this house here and I love houses sitting in the middle of cities. Would be so cool to live there.

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

Cool pic, thanks. I do love the remaining grand buildings on that stretch. There are some great photos of that hill being developed in the late 19th century, with sparse, grand apartment blocks adjacent to undeveloped land. Very cool. I wasn't suggesting the stop be named Summit Hill, just...

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Ed Flynn is a DINO (Democrat in Name Only)! Southie may as well just declare themselves Republican at this point.

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

I grew up in Brookline and we all called it "Summit Hill" and "Summit Park" and we went there all the time. Never once heard it called "Corey Hill" until adulthood. I still have no idea what Brandon Hall refers to. But I like the name and always liked that leafy stretch of Beacon where the...

DCR Allston-Brighton Riverfront Parks and Parkways

Allow trucks on the parkways (would only require a few bridges being redone and maybe a couple extra lanes) and then we're good.

DCR Allston-Brighton Riverfront Parks and Parkways

I have no idea if it would help things; and don’t really know why there isn’t an exit there now. But my guess is that the Newton exit will always be clogged and I don’t see it as being replaceable by Birmingham. If the city wanted to make Galen Street nice they could, and they should.

by Watertown Sq do you mean the Newton Corner “circle of death” exit?

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

This section of Allston has always felt blighted by an absence of any trees or vegetation, both street trees and also nothing in any of the lots. The architecture is shitty early/mid 20th century bland brick stuff, zero charm. Too bad it looks like this building continued that tradition.

    Biking in Boston

I dont use it much these days but it's never been a heavily trafficked street, and it's always been too wide and I have long wondered when it would be redesigned. I would personally advocate for keeping the parking metered spots close to Beacon but overall it could stand to be heavily redone in...

Got any documents and maps of this, Charlie?

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Awesome. Yeah I am a sucker for ROWs swallowed up by nature.

Trees are so cool. From the presentation... Same trees probably as are there today.

DCR Allston-Brighton Riverfront Parks and Parkways

It's just so dumb how ossified and rigid government is. Like, there are two redundant parkways here. One of them should be eliminated since the entire district they both serve could be served by one of them. All pretty urbanistic redo's and "shared use" bullshit doesnt eliminate the fact that...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I am sure I am not alone in that there is a special form of satisfaction looking on satellite views for hidden, ancient RR ROWs—unmatched except by the pleasure of being in some old town and suddenly noticing that that elevated ridge looks a little too graded, or seeing a random abutment to a...

1690-1700 Hyde Park Avenue | Hyde Park

Agree but I was saying something slightly different, but was actually saying two things so maybe I should clarify: First, I meant not that we can’t have mixed industrial / resi anymore, but that we can’t have industrial areas period. Like maybe we’ll get some anti urban industrial district...

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I am so utterly tired of Boston/state redevelopment schemes that lead to giant, box shaped buildings on super blocks. This has stunk of the same from inception. Depressing.

Transit via the Grand Junction Corridor | Cambridge and Boston

Right, this is what I was referring to. And hasn't Harvard completely thrown away even a mention of retaining any for of reservation (even BRT) in their master plans over the last few years? In a Green Line reconfiguration universe, the E routes all the way through a separate Back Bay tunnel...

Transit via the Grand Junction Corridor | Cambridge and Boston

It seems pretty insane to consider having a light rail in GJ that goes to West Station, right under the BU Bridge but still without any formal connection to the B. At least theoretically, would it be possible to have three lines in the tunnel: the B, a Harvard Sq line (via West), and then a GJ line?

    "Dirty Old Boston"

That is totally wild. Is there any active use of it whatsoever today? I mean, if it was converted to residences with some commercial fronts it would be fine, it’s just a big hulking semi abandoned building and always has been.

    "Dirty Old Boston"

I was looking for photos of the old Roggi's in Cleveland Circle and found these pics online. That building (that I think must be owned by the T) has always, in my lifetime, been such a blight on Cleveland Circle, and I never knew it had a small storefront, an Esso, a beauty shop, and a Chinese...
