Anyone know if the silver line ramp ever made it into revenue service? Last I remember was that the pilot was successful but they only allow it during afternoon rush. Is that right or did they just scrap the ramp completely?

Another 10mph speed restriction. They had these for months while the Longfellow was being rebuilt. I think the older 1500/1600/1700 cars can't maintain a solid 10mph exactly on the up-grade which causes the start/stop. I'm not sure how back-logged the maintenance is for these track sections but...

Would love to see the source on this & any stats on seats filled on that BOS > Hayden route. Interesting that all the new "ski flights" are Ikon Pass resorts (Jac, Steamboat, Big Sky). The duopoly in the ski pass industry will have a major spillover effect if those direct flights enter service.

The new tighter signal blocks won't be effect until the entire current rolling stock is retired. I don't think overall travel times will decrease much during off-peak periods, but peak travel times should improve from tighter headways, shorter dwells, wider 4-door boarding.

If they need to restrict the number of passes in circulation can't they just start charging for them/charge higher rates on a yearly basis?
