    Westbrook, ME

Full Article: (No Renderings) I was hoping it would be where the Park & Ride is, but it'll be where @Cosakita18 depicted. A big apartment complex neighboring Rock Row and aimed at reducing the housing shortage in Westbrook could begin construction as early as next year, but an entrance to the...

    Westbrook, ME

I live in Westbrook. What's ironic is the place no one wanted to live in the 90's is where everyone wants to be right now. At least if you can't be in Portland. I love it here.

Haha ... this is basically what I see:

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

Is Herald Square, 52 Hannover, Port Properties (Bayside), or even USM (despite having a mess hall) considering adding Markets to their buildings? Or will students and residents just walk the 0.3 to 1 mile to Hannaford, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Co-Op? Or take the bus, uber, ride with friends...

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

Call me crazy, but if we tout that Portland is a "walkable" city and desires to grow, we can't expect that builders will put a market close to us because it's convenient. Does that happen in Boston? NYC? Chicago? Or will you walk the .6 Miles from High Street to Joe's, Rosemont, Fresh Approach...

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

From this site: Food Co-Op is 0.3 miles CVS is 0.3 Miles Browne Trading 0.3 miles Micucci is 0.5 miles Dyer's is 0.4 miles Plus Peace and Moriah for Halal and other options Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Hannaford, Rosemont, and others aren't that far either. People who will live downtown (esp...

Potential Soccer Stadium | Portland peninsula

This is why Portland can't get anything done. They lack vision, organization, and participation. The only people who are loud are the misguided, part-time Maine resident, hypocritical NIMBY's

The Casco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

I doubt Hannaford would do anything that would compete with its own Bayside/Forest Ave location. It's already competing against Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. We're looking at a Rosemont, Fresh Approach, Miccuci, Peace Food Market, Mellen St Market, Browne Trading, etc. Unless there's something...

    Lewiston, Maine's second largest city.

Will be a gorgeous building to live in. Curious what the first floor big windows will become.

That's a good replacement. Also looks similar to the house next to it. Fits the neighborhood. Scalloped siding and what appears to be metal roofing look great. Gives it a historical look.

This is a cool "before" shot if you consider what else may come in Bayside per our other thread.

Potential Soccer Stadium | Portland peninsula

Great, move the Red Claws/Celtics to Thompson's Point and build an ice arena out there too. That project is basically a huge "miss" anyway. Portland is too keen on preserving the wrong things. Expo and Bean Factory are not it.

Potential Soccer Stadium | Portland peninsula

Gotcha, I just know some of the Celtics Players who hate the Expo facility and find it embarrassing. ::shrugs:: New Ice arenas can be built, I'm just asking why these two locations haven't been put in a long-term consideration for demolition and replacement. The more space we can provide for...

Potential Soccer Stadium | Portland peninsula

I'm still not sure why the EXPO or the Troubh Ice Area can't be demolished to add more space to the area. The EXPO itself is built on top of an old pauper's grave. Those remains were moved to a section in the Western Cemetery and under the walkways there. The Maine Celtics (FKA Red Claws) could...

    Portland Bayside

I've been saying the Noyes storage building should be razed and used as landfill since they need to raise the flood plain down there. Most of Bayside is landfill from the Great Fire anyhow. The Baxter Academy [et al] should be razed in its entirety (rather than only the side wing) to allow for...

I agree, it would have been nice when I worked at One Portland Square to be able to walk somewhere to grab Tylenol - lol. Maybe there's room for two vendors? Grocery and Granny's Burritos anyone? :)

Maybe the mural will be where they expect the vehicles to turn into the site?

They have these in NYC with a view of the Empire State Building. Removed in the warm months. Super fun.
