Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

The stations will also be upgraded to accommodate the new rolling stock. Anyway, people are frustrated with Milton's refusal to comply, but the good news is that there are a number of parcels in the town that will be upzoned and almost surely will be built upon. Surprisingly three of them are...

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

Besides the Cedar Grove Cemetary, there are also the issues of it running at grade along the Neponset River which is undergoing a major effort to clean up and a couple street crossings

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

There was historic opposition every time they tried to turn it into a bus too. That was back when nothing was built in Lower Mills because it was depressed. Now, there is a considerable amount of development going on there and maybe that will necessitate an upgrade someday soon

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

Geography forces them unless they want to zone an area that includes a great number of historic homes. I am just as curious as the next guy to see what they come up with

More importantly is that there was little opposition, and even support in Lower Mills and the Blue Hills Parkway areas near the trolley but overwhelming opposition over in East Milton near the highway

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

The problem with the designation is that it is not correct, the subway does not pass thru Milton, and the state knows it was going to be a problem, so they changed it just for them. Do you know something we don't know? I am not aware of opposition to a Red Line expansion, or even an actual plan...

And EMS only uses a siren if someone's life is in actual peril because it is dangerous, and that is only a fraction of their calls.

Why not? This city-wide initiative to build housing on top of libraries, where possible, is good stuff. We get more housing and new libraries. Why not fire stations? Off the top of my head I would say that the stations on Neponset Ave and Morton Street in Dorchester would be good candidates too

    Milton infill and small development

Milton has historically had few liquor licenses to keep the riff raff out. You couldn't really blame them considering the bars in Dorchester and Quincy back then. I remember 3: the Milton Hill House, and the package stores in Lower Mills and East Milton. Clearly, they have relaxed that. Milton...

    General Infrastructure

I am from Dorchester, I know where it is, and it is not wrong to point out that part of the reason that a rotary was chosen way back when was to avoid having to take a left across traffic. Another reason was so that cars don't back up behind the car wanting to take a left. I was not objecting to...

I am surprised because one important benefit of a rotary is that you never have cross over traffic to take a left where it may be dangerous

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

Is this a discussion of what is real or just vengeful fantasy? The problem is that the only penalty under law is a "twig" because the law is poorly written. The legislature needs to find the courage to amend this law.
