Haven't seen that. Thanks. The entrance needs to be moved from side to front on Stevens. No reason this can't be done.

The one exception in my mind to the point I made above is on-street parking, where the ability to park a car in VIP spaces is incidental to the true benefit -- slowing traffic and creating a pedestrian buffer. On-street parking aint bad.

    Thompson's Point, Portland

I see no reason why this might not go forward. It is, in my opinion, a mediocre project, off the beaten path, which won't add substantially to the feeling of Portland as a city. It'll just bring in some new activity to an already busy area (and not an enjoyable area). Its location has been...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

My biggest tiff with the Sussman project is that it's not really development--it's replacement. I'd be much happier with this very strange looking building if it was being proposed on vacant land....but it's not. It's proposing to demolish the structures that people associate with Portland...

India Street is equally as important as a regional urban center as it is as a...

What $900,000 and some creativity can get you in downtown Portland

A pretty neat way to see what one person has done with re-using old buildings along Congress Street. There is a narrow elevator that is used to access this space (it looks like a tube). It's located in the heart of the City, above the Portland Public Market House, next to the Public Library...
