What to do about the NEAQ?

Unless it's already slated to be developed, the perfect spot to relocate the NEAQ would be in the Seaport district, way down past Bank of America Pavilion. There is currently there a huge empty area there, currently used as a Cruiseport "cellphone waiting lot". Think it's called Kennedy...

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

^ Beeline has a way of framing MT with some very cool angle shots, mixing the old with the new....the flag poles, the statues, the church steeple. Very cool pics!

^A few tweaks do not a great Aquarium make....Why did adding an IMAX theater make the Aquarium better? Answer: Because the Aquarium sux, so we may as well go watch a movie instead.

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 ^I was just thinking about that. What if Belkin doesn't get chosen to develop? Is his parcel needed for this project to go forward? Will his parcel be taken by eminent domain if he is not chosen as the developer?

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 ^I hope this is true. Maybe the FAA always issues a "notice of presumed hazard" for any proposal near an airport. I know Miami developers have received FAA approval for towers up near 1000' after initially receiving...

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 Sorry to burst everyone's Accordia bubble, but the building in the render's will never be built. It's a beautiful dream, but it's too tall. The Globe article clearly reminds us all that the FAA height limit for that...

^I have to disagree. With Boston's long and rich maritime heritage, the Aquarium's an embarrassment.....Of course the kids like it, kids like anything. It's just torture for everybody else. Massachusetts is the only state in the entire country having it's capitol directly on the ocean. That...

^I know this is off thread, but, Why have you put all your money on Accordia, when HYM hasn't even shown a tower proposal yet? Granted, Accordia's building is the best looking by far...........so far.

What to do about the NEAQ?

Re: Aquarium Parking Garage Redevelopment | Waterfront | Downtown ^Finally, someone speaks the TRUTH about the Aquarium! It really IS a giant toilet bowl. I saw the Tidy-Bowl guy swimming around cleaning the tank AND feeding fish!...(definitely not union represented). I've seen more...

^In addition, being mostly residential means it doesn't have to stand out as a high-profile office tower would, so less of a need to light it....(don't get me wrong, I love nighttime illumination). I would think most commercial/office focused buildings would have more of a need to emphasize...

^It's dark and disappears now, but when the units are occupied and lit from within, I think it will look good. The windows do not seem to be as reflective as Hancock Tower (oops, I mean 200 Clarendon) so I think more light will shine through the windows.(?) Plus all those rich people will be up...

^The agitators would just dig in and fight!....But there's a reason for their fights, and I'm here to help them. I'm printing up some pamphlets to hand out at every BRA, and Neighborhood opposition meeting from now on concerning the issue of "Acrophobia", and how to overcome it. Sadly, NIMBY's...

^Good points.....The Boston skyline is unique, and former Mayor Kevin White's "High Spine" initiative many years ago is a big reason. There are many different perspectives to the skyline, depending on where you are viewing it. My favorite is from Memorial Drive, at night....MT is a nice addition...
