    Biking in Boston

I was walking by Binney St. recently and is it getting grade separated lanes?

    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

Does ADA compliance cap the grade at which the ramps can be built? I find the very large sloping sections to be more off-balancing than the older steeper ramp sections. Maybe it's because the slop doesn't stand out as much so I don't expect it, but they really just remind me of the terrible...

I work right across from this site, and while I haven't seen them working on it, it looks like paint to me. The taller building to the right is definitely getting a thorough scrubbing though.

I'm a fan. It reminds me a bit of Simmons Hall for some reason.

Re: Garden Garage Towers (Basketball City) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End Guess it took the BRA a few tries to get the file updated because it appears an NPC was filed on 10/16. Sometimes it pays to revisit the website if it shows that it was recently updated. Here's the link the the file at...

Peak Car and the future of everything

I'd say it is this + the fact that you can now real-time track when the next bus/train shows up, how long it will take you to get to your destination, and how to actually get to your destination in a non car-dependent method.

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

Re: New Design for Middlesex Courthouse Just nitpicking here, but it's not really skirting local zoning when Towns derive the right to zone from the State. There is a pretty good public policy argument for the State to retain its zoning exemptions.

Suffolk County Courthouse Discussion | 3 Pemberton Square | Government Center

Honestly the last time I was in there for a trial was a bit jarring. Trying to concentrate while on a top floor in a sun filled room with no air conditioning in July is a bit difficult... It's always fun when your decision is between practicing in a sauna or opening the windows and trying to...

You'd have to dig through the affordable housing agreement to check the various % AMI dedications (X units at market rates, X units at 80% AMI, X at units 60% AMI, etc.). My guess is that with a 40% affordable housing component (IIRC) and with a goal of providing housing to the displaced...
