Re: Congress Street Garage Development The physical plant is cool and the upgrades on Dorchester Ave circa 2009 are nice. But way too much of the space is surface lot. Davem's plan is a winner.

Neighborhood buzz is that the parking lot at Farnsworth and Congress has been sold to a condo developer that is seeking to put something up along the lines of 6-8 stories.

The Greenway basically falls apart when you hit the segment across from the large parking lot in the North End. Not sure what you could do to remedy that besides closing the off ramps.

I asked the manager of the hotel back in early july and he didnt know. Would be curious to hear of any news.

The Atrium in the Hotel is incredible.

^+1 - Couldn't the facade or perhaps the Payless bldg. itself be saved and integrated into the new building. A mid-rise fill in of residential plus new groundfloor retail seems ideal.

Reminds me of the State Street bldg on A Street, but black.
