I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

The federal gov't isn't allowing any new sections of breakdown lane travel and that is honestly worse imo than just not having a lane. Either way it would never be approved so that doesn't matter. I think taking it down by one lane in each direction would be okay and would in the long run...

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I would suggest the masspike lose a lane in each direction after the new exit they build. It goes down to three lanes at Prudential anyways so I don't think having the lane drop happen earlier would be that bad. Plus it would allow the pike to have breakdown lanes along its whole length instead...

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

The roof was on the renders posted on the marketing website for the tower which still exists and contains a video showing a covering over most of the top, but since this is marketing material it may have not been a totally accurate representation of the actual plans...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I believe there is. The diagram below shows a set of stairs and escalators as well as elevators on the South Station end of the bus terminal expansion and the platform level diagram shows stairs and elevators in the same position at the end of some of the tracks that match those.

    Boston Skyline Photos

That would be a huge skyline though the only skylines in the United States that would be longer are NYC, Chicago and Miami. Boston already has a large skyline and it doesn't make sense to push the skyline out that far yet although the Union Square developments may start to pull it over and...

They both have the smaller base and larger upper section that overhangs the sidewalk thing going on.

Equality Community Center | 23-25 Casco Str. | Portland

That makes sense. I just wanted to give a little more context on why this isn't larger.

Equality Community Center | 23-25 Casco Str. | Portland

This is being developed by several non-profits that serve the LGBTQ community in Maine and I know they are not looking to take on a role as a major landlord so it makes sense this is what they are doing. Plus while it might be nice if they could have included more housing in a taller building...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I would assume the manufacturer is just slow. The Hancock wasn't a glass manufacturing issue it was an architectural design issue.

    Please stop.

Whigh I am pretty sure everyone on here is aware the world is transforming and how that transformation has been affecting Boston. Using language like GNUrd does not further that message. Also there are books written about every time and place change is the one constant in human society and while...

Regional New England Rail (Amtrak & State DOT & NEC)

But sometimes engineering a solution is a bad idea even if it can be done. I don't think anyone has said that it can't be done with enough money and work. People have said that in this case it could be done, but it doesn't make sense. Why would you want to run the Acelas on the Keystone line for...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

But its not all of the billions its half. Your example of $50 billion becomes $25 billion shows that. Yes it is still a lot of money, but it is also still half the money that has to be found. This isn't an issue that we should just throw our hands up at. This can be solved by changing operating...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

That just means that someone who hasn't been following this project that closely hasn't seen the news about the tower and updated it based on the assumption that it must be on hold.

    USM | Portland

With my financial aid from the school I'm not paying more than I would at any of the Vermont state schools. They have scholarships specifically for students from other New England schools to bring costs down to in-state levels. Plus unlike with the Vermont schools I'm not stuck in the middle of...

    USM | Portland

As an out of state student at USM right now they get a huge number of out of state students who transfer because they have a lot of money for out of state transfer students and market pretty heavily to out of state students. Plus Portland is a way better location than Orono as far as things to...

Northern Avenue Bridge Fort Point Channel

Doesn't the rendering show a lower deck with the park and two upper level decks available for people looking to cross without stopping or hanging out?

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

For Vermont where I grew up the obvious choice was the Vermonter. The Ethan Allen Express makes sense for people in Rutland and that is about it. There aren't any other options that make sense because heading to Boston on a bus and then getting the Northeast Regional or Acela isn't any faster...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

USM has a huge housing shortage. I am a student at the school and there is much greater demand for on campus housing than the school is currently able to provide so that is a really good step forward.

    Seaport Transportation

The rule of thumb with signal priority is that the higher the vehicle frequency on the line you are giving priority to the less strong the priority can be or it would shut down traffic too much. Alon Levy talks about this some on his blog Pedestrian Observations.
