    Portland Transit West Project

I thought I would share some exciting transit news that is happening in the Portland area. There are two new routes being added as well as some updates to routes already in operation. The Husky Line aka Green Line which will operate every 30 minutes and the Blue line which will operate every...

Ink Block (Boston Herald) | 300 Harrison Avenue | South End

I misread the intent. Sorry about that.

Ink Block (Boston Herald) | 300 Harrison Avenue | South End

Sprngh2o that isn't really relevant. Maybe they are able to work maybe they aren't they could still be homeless for many reasons either way and I don't think any of us really need to know whether they can work or not or why they are homeless unless they want to share their story.

Boston - Most Embarrassing Blight That Tourists See

I think the Post Office won't allow that section to be open to the public as long as they exist there. I am pretty sure that is a dead space until the Post Office moves which the city and state have been working on but they can only do so much.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower Yeah I messed up on that one. I think I transitioned from thinking specifically about Hines to generally and forgot to actually show that in my writing.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower I honestly don't understand Hines as a developer they seem to be very successful with developments in other cities. I can see how these are more complex, but I would think a major national developer would have understood that and have been prepared for the difficulties...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

The residential/hotel component is starting according to the BPDA website so people were correct when they said that appeared to be started.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I think they are basing it on the price of the units. It would't surprise me if they cost as much as what some of the condos in the new Four Seasons will cost. It is a waterfront building which tends to inflate prices some.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

It might be. It was looking that way to me as well.

Julie Hall | Brookline Ave | Emanuel College | Fenway

It might be suite or apartment style dorms or include some which would mean less students per square foot of building. That could be why it looks bigger than you expected. Most of the new housing at colleges is suite style to make it more like living in an apartment.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Considering how small the base of this tower is and that they needed to include both a hotel and a residence lobby really cut into the space for activation and they are still including space for a "cafe" or something like that along Belvidere Street so I think considering the constraints of the...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

Well if you mean moving the line back to Washington Street that absolutely adds space for two more sets of track which would allow for 5 tracks in the NEC row for Amtrak and commuter rail trains.

    Green Line Reconfiguration

In the end I feel like the real issue is that somehow someone looked at a phrase about replacing the Orange Line with "equal or better service" that started to be thrown around when the planning for the El being removed was starting and didn't stop to say hey maybe we should keep the orange line...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

Honestly in Boston all of the light rail lines get enough ridership and go through dense enough areas to jusify conversion to heavy rail except for the D line. The green line as a whole has more riders per mile than every single heavy rail system in the country other than the MBTA, PATH, and NY...

    Roxbury Infill and Small Developments

It is not entirely public/afforadable housing and rentals absolutely can be gentrified. As long as it isn't too severe gentrification helps anyone who owns property, but it is not helpful for anyone renting those are the people most at risk.

Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

It looks to me like the buildings are for the most part completely or at the least mostly structurally independent of the garages which would allow for the garages to be torn down and replaced more easily. For example the tallest residential building has part of the steel frame extending down...

MBTA Red Line / Blue Line Connector

I wouldn't call it a convenience project. It does several things such as allowing for the closure of Bowdoin station and providing a direct and convenient connection to the Red Line which takes pressure off of the Green line at both Gov't Center and Park Street. This is especially important at...

    Google Maps 3D Imagery Update

I hope not, but it seems like they don't update these all that often. I haven't noticed a pattern aside from NYC seeming to get the most updates.

    Google Maps 3D Imagery Update

I went on google maps tonight and noticed that something seemed different and when I looked closer I realized that the 3D view had been updated and there were now 3D models for the Millennium Tower as well as a bunch of the other recent additions.
