Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I wonder if jetblue will try to concentrate (is this possible) their NYC, DC and LAX/SFO flights with MINT and business focus in the nicer section.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I could see JetBlue doing a lounge, especially as they court business travels and launch MINT. The waiting area in C at the gates is painfully small even when just 1 plan is boarding, let alone at peak times.

General Electric HQ (Necco Buildings Reno) | 5 Necco Street | Fort Point

Re: General Electric HQ | Necco St.| Fort Point I'm more optimistic because I think this move and building is as much about GE branding as it is costs and just a office with a view for executives. I imagine GE will have a lot of events and innovation showcased in the building.

General Electric HQ (Necco Buildings Reno) | 5 Necco Street | Fort Point

Re: General Electric HQ | TBD | Innovation District Good. prominent location on fort point. I think GE will build a statement/ showcase building. That was the whole point of the move, digital innovation branding. I am excited. Plus will also hopefully push the post office out across the channel.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium Also, the Boston Cannons moved from playing at Harvard Stadium to playing at Gillette. Pro lacrosse is definitely a lot smaller than MLS, especially in Gillette. The Cannons had been on of the league leaders in attendance and I'd expect a...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Does Massport have a plan for the lot in front of terminal E. I know it is the limo waiting space right now and some short term E parking. But for an airport as constrained as Logan, are they saving it for a future garage expansion? Maybe they don't want to encourage more driving and airport...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Wow, solid growth. The international is too be expected with just the number of new flights, but over 9% for domestic seems very impressive! Is there any parceling of how much the growth was that continued on international versus just O&D or domestic transfers.

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Re: City Hall Plaza Polar Bar / City Bistro city hall is 50 years old, right? The few times i've been in it -not just the lobby but some meeting rooms - it seems totally outdated and structurally aging fast. Proposals like this seem all like silly handwaving. What is stopping City Hall...

    Fairmount Line Upgrade

Re: Fairmont Line Upgrade The T should constantly be able to look for ways to maximize value of its land near stations and it should get an incentive to do so to maximize value and to promote ToD, which the city and state should get behind. There should be some 40b-esque rule that says if the...

    Why is Chicago so affordable?

Couple thoughts: Permitting and density - Chicago isn't as dense as SF, Bos, NYC, DC so you can't say they solve it by density, but they do seem to be able to build tall, relatively quickly, and relatively cheaply, so you don't see the city or neighborhoods price spikes because the supply can...

Boston Properties Office Tower | 888 Boylston Street | Back Bay

The building has a very strong presence when down boylston street in Fenway. I was surprised from that vantage point. 888 is the one that frames the look to downtown. That whole Boylston Fenway corridor is really starting to get a sense of place with the Boylston west building being done. The...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 Ok this may start a bit of a tangent and apologies in advance, but Rifleman brings up a point on incentives and office space. Several Winthrop proposals are residential only, as MT has shown luxury high rise can fly...

    128 Widening

Any reason why they didn't/can't/won't make the new forth lane an hov only when it's all done. No need for new infrastructure just signs , maybe a closer dashed line and enforcement by police on the roads. Seems like it would be good to support 128 buses and carpools from offices as opposed...

Boylston West @ Fenway Triangle (Van Ness) | 1325 Boylston Street | Fenway

The point building under construction will also not have parking but will have access to Trilogy parking. So this means parking for Fenway events will spill more into Van Ness building. Plus the parking was attractive to Target going in and to the large office space that's to be filled.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Didn't they have to move the yard after compliants from brickbottom which required som elaborate flyovers. what if they push back on the yard location? Also, what if they make it so you can't enter the yard directly from every direction but only from the lechmere side. it would be an ops pain...

Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

If they redo the whole strip they are going to have to do more parking. It's just a fact for having new office and shopping, despite being on the orange line and becoming a more defined neighborhood. So if KMart goes, they could build a couple 1st floor commercial with parking up top, like the...

WestJet has a good breakdown of fares. It is amazing that the taxes add~$100 on the one way from Boston. It sets a high bar when the base fare is $99 but round trip with taxes would be $400 pp. You can do round trip to SF for nearly half that if timed right!
