    The influx of new housing in this area should help at least with the perception of safety, the whole "eyes on the street" idea. I concur that a small. grocery with early/late hours would be a nice addition on this stretch.

    Your eyes do not deceive, this is indeed the 2nd version of the fire stairs. It looks like a fair amount of manual labor to build these on site, so must have had some unfixable issue with the first one they built.
