this thing is financed, under construction and has an anchor tenant/ target date for delivery. I believe state street took the entire bottom half of the building. The only trouble I see is difficulty signing the more expensive top half. I’d still love to hear stowekers take tho.

FWIW my company’s wall st lease ends next year and they’re actively searching for space. 100% signing a long term lease in nyc cbd in the next few months.

bc this project is mainly office space. Wasn’t there a hotel in there too? Those aren’t doing well either. it probably wouldn’t be as much of an issue if this whole thing was residential. But again living in a neighborhood like this isn’t exactly ideal right now.

What are the chances they plow ahead self funded? Double cranes already on site etc.

Used to walk by this everyday to and from work...haven’t seen it since March. Doesn’t look like much progress since.

Interest rates at zero, hopefully there’s some pension fund or some other investor willing to invest in Boston. Perhaps the other investors from MT willing to jump in. I refuse to believe there’s going to be a hole downtown. Wasn’t there a hotel portion in this building as well?

This project is not screwed. If anything it looks better now. The pivot to rental and reduction of condo units was probably a lever built into the project from day 1. Smart of millennium to plan ahead. I do agree the spec office space could be a problem with WFH momentum. Who knows if it will...

Truly great to see this and other large projects continue to push forward. I keep waiting to see a cancellation and so far...nothing yet. Fingers crossed.

Does anyone appreciate the scale of this project ? There’s no tall buildings involved but this thing is 2,700 units ! I personally think this is a positive development for the city and neighborhood but I’m sure some do not feel that same way.

Haha my bad...I meant SST “State street tower” lol. I didn’t understand the cynicism until I realized my mistake. I apologize but the crane for State Street Tower must be coming soon. What’s the acronym for that ?

Can’t wait to see this and SST tower cranes in the sky...will help visually anchor exactly where these pop up.
