I know we are all jaded from the Downtown crossing hole, but if you go to 1dalton construction updates website, it seems like they have actually done a lot of work on this project already and I don't see how they can turn back now
Rifleman has it right. Forget the tax break and let him build the full 1.3 million. Would be better for all involved.
I would love to believe this project will happen, but I am not counting on it
overregulation thwarts the greater good once again
Re: Congress Street Garage Development | West End
I have long expected that the next major groundbreaking in Boston would either be Copley or TD project. My hope is they would both break ground before the end of the year. Now this week there was news that Copley will indeed break ground this...
I did not snap a picture but there was a ton of work going on here last Friday afternoon
It looked like there were two cranes, one small and one medium sized
I have ZERO expertise in construction but i bet you will start to see frame go up soon is my guess
Re: Pier 4 Residential Tower | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport
Well itchy perhaps you are correct. When I went to a seminar at MHS one of the Librarians said that they had Jeffersons presidential Library, though it is true that a large amount of his papers exist elsewhere.
Regardless it is...

Re: Pier 4 Residential Tower | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport
I did drop them a note. I wrote their President. I also wrote BRA. BRA wrote me back twice. They loved the idea. Anyone else who wants to write the Massachusetts Historical Society to make them take notice Here is the contact...
Re: Pier 4 Residential Tower | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport
Can we convince the Massachusetts Historical Society to bid for this space?
They have one of America's best collection of objects related to American History. There are countless papers, art and objects. They have 3...
Re: The Boston Garden (TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End
I think it is reasonable to have a healthy skepticism about any proposed project in Boston based on many factors here. Until the structure is going up, I personally don't believe it is going to happen. I have seen too...
Why not build a skyscraper and a museum. Museum on lower floors, skyscraper above. Developer gets to build a big skyscraper in exchange for museum space. Financing problem solved. Everyone's happy. Win-win. Seems pretty simple to me.
Re: The Boston Garden (TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End
So with 1 Dalton groundbreaking underway (Hooray!) is this the next major project to break ground, or will Copley project, which reported a spring groundbreaking in August 6 2014 issue of Boston Business Journal.
I...

I think the Back Bay train station redevelopment has the best chance to be Boston's new tallest building
Re: Peabody Essex's New Gallery
Whiglander your a genius! I thought the same thing. I was surprised the Globe article on Sunday made no mention of a museum for WynN Casino. With all his talk of non gaming activites at the casino I was surprised. A PEM satellite gallery in Everett would be...
Re: Peabody Essex's New Gallery
At the very least, they should have a ferry from Seaport that could take tourists to Salem. Give them some presence in Boston/Camridge. Like I said it is about 15 miles from PEM to Downtown Boston ( Getty is 17 from downtown LA).
