    archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

I feel like this was a rather specific question: And I think the main reason I'm asking is you've told us to look at your other sites to see what can be done here, and when I look at them, I see something that's somewhat more than a well moderated, modern forum with banner ads. But then when...

    archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

I'm sorry if I'm sound rude, but this is coming across as, "I'm good at this trust me," and many of us would like something more than that. Like what have you done to make Urbantoronto and SkyriseCities so successful that could also be done here? Is it just good moderators and software? Also...

    archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Getting back to business, in our previous discussions, several users had requested that Portland get it's own subforum. Given that the Portland thread is one of the most active on this site, that's definitely something to consider.

Thanks, I'm fine with monetization if it will bring professional site maintenance, is transparent, and doesn't interfere with forum discussion. Also I'd like to add my name to those who want MagicMan banned. It's plainly obvious that it's the same person as RifleMan, and I'm not even...

    archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

Do try to understand that if we seem reluctant, it's because the ownership situation has left us frustrated for awhile. So it's not that we don't trust you, it's that we have trust issues right now. But I think there's also a lot of excitement here for an admin who's committed to modernizing the...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

In full agreement here. And sure overnight only had about 50 rider per weeknight, and you could find more riders at a lower cost elsewhere, but those would almost certainly be riders who had the option of using transit before if they were willing to walk a little further or wait a little longer...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Science Park is the closest GL stop to MGH, but it doesn't make sense for GL riders coming from the West to ride all the way through Downtown when getting off at Park and walking or switching to the Red Line would be faster. Once there's larger-than-token ridership GL coming from the North, I'd...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I think a good faith effort at this would look something like: create a distinct route name for night services (London's N## branding seems like a good model to follow) make a map of the routes and put it fucking everywhere add the new routes to bus stop signs (so people know they're waiting...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

From yesterday's FMCB meeting regarding the late night bus pilot. While increased frequency and later last trip is being kept, the after 1am service is getting axed. I think that was misguided. First of all this service is confusingly branded; like how clear is it to someone who lives off the 27...

Someone should tell that to the MBTA and MassDOT.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Eh, you could still turn north from this location, it just won't as direct a route. And at the moment GJR being used for Commuter Rail looks much more likely than LRV, so that's what MassDOT should have as their first consideration.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Eh, I don't think it'd be a huge deal if traffic coming from Granby/BSR has to U-turn at St. Mary's, and closing Blandford will prevent any possibility of turning left out of Cummington/Blandford (but that should be low priority unless BU's funding things). Somewhat related question: what are...

I have a post in the Green Line Reconfiguration thread about this, though I was leaning towards scrapping BU Central rather BU East (in hindsight my consolidated station idea makes the most sense to me).

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

Ari has been using a lot weird arguments on this issue, like saying that if 60ft bus can use a city street, it can use this ramp, or that if a 60ft bus can't use a ramp of a certain length, we should close all ramps of that length to all vehicles. Until he can stop using such hyperbolic...

    Fantasy T maps

In that map B line is rerouted to GJR. So I assume would the Blue Line goes under Beacon St to Kenmore where it gets a station around the existing Westbound Green Line platforms before continuing into a tunnel under the Comm Ave median. Then C&D use the current Eastbound platforms in both direction.
