    6 Norman Street | Everett

Everett is a happening, pro-development town. The first shall be last, and the last shall be first. Everett shall become among the first.

    282-308 Bremen | East Boston

If they maintain a consistent wood staining schedule on this, it should look good for a long time.

    Boston Easter Eggs

I vaguely remember seeing it when I would ride the el back in the 1960s as a teenager. Somehow the utility function of it is what I remember seeing.

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

OPM Headquaters in DC was the inspiration!

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

If they had gone with dark grey framing (as it appears in that photo) and also not included the corner wrap-around windows, it would have been pretty decent.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

I'm glad you said that, because you made me think, yeah, it's pretty good the way it is now. One might even argue that the bridge without the side paneling gives it a bit of an industrial, truss-like look.

Massachusetts Turnpike/I-90 (Current Projects, Conceptual Improvements, & Long Term)

A sizeable chunk crashing through someone's windshield would not be good. I'm thinking some strong netting should be stretched along the ceiling.

Idea for fixing the housing shortage

I'm guessing that would drive up the cost of existing single family homes, because of the ultimately reduced supply of such housing.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

What is "FRP fascia screening installation"? Hopefully it's the missing paneling that needs to go on the sides of the bridge.

Mildred Hailey (Bromley Heath) BHA Redevelopment | Jackson Square | Jamaica Plain

Exactly. Brick on some portions of the new buildings could add some feeing of warmth, plus give a nod to the historical context of the old housing project.

Mildred Hailey (Bromley Heath) BHA Redevelopment | Jackson Square | Jamaica Plain

I really like some of the original brick buildings better (like the one on the right in the above photo). I like the way they were positioned at various angles and spread out a bit more, more homey and personable. The new ones appear massive and soulless, but part of that could be their...

Boston University - Pardee School of Global studies | 250 Bay State Road | Fenway

I like it. A clean building, not crazy or jarring.

If an electric bus puttered, but no one heard it, did it really putter?

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Something like this elevated LRV line in Seattle would look good along I-93 through Medford to Stoneham. The line to Lynnwood WA is 8.5 miles with 4 stations, at a cost of $3 billion. It was started 5 years ago and was just completed, so add 5 years inflation to that cost to get a current...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I was thinking along the I-93 ROW, to put an elevated LRV line alongside one side of it, on the expressway cutbank or fillbank. Seattle's been doing that with its LRV extensions along I-5.

Transit Planning $h!tposting (Ideas so bad, they're good)

I like it. It's a good application of a cross-suburban transit route that connects radial lines in the outer towns, like a segment of an outer urban ring. The Boston area doesn't have any of those types of routes connecting the radials.

Mildred Hailey (Bromley Heath) BHA Redevelopment | Jackson Square | Jamaica Plain

I wish they could have broken these buildings up a bit so that they looked less like massive landscrapers. It is am overworked cliché, but the massiveness makes them resemble the old Soviet apartment blocks, especially in that last photo ^.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I'd like to see this and several other center-reservation or separate ROW LRV lines established in the Boston metro area, including Columbus Av./Seaver St./Blue Hill Av. to Mattapan, among others. I'm no expert on the nuances of 4F, though I worked with it a bit in my career, but in simpler...

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

I like it, except for the wire awnings sticking out at the top and around the 5th floor. They look a bit superfluous and cluttery.
