Alta Revolution (XMBLY) | 290 Revolution Dr. | Assembly Sq | Somerville

the bar is so low. I truly dont understand how decorating a box decently is so challenging.

Hood Business Park | 480-570 Rutherford Avenue | Charlestown

^I am a little obsessed with the black and white building. Hello Hood Park, I see you.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

I may have been drunk when I took this Saturday.

Whittier Choice Neighborhood | 1158 Tremont Street | Roxbury

Looks like Nichiha which is actually more expensive than you'd think. IMO, taste and arch details matter more than material cost.

Lewis Hall | Harvard Law School | Cambridge

its a small gripe but why didn't they continue the corner detail on the first three floors to the forth floor... it makes an otherwise very well done addition look a bit like an afterthought.

Marketplace Center | Quincy Market | Downtown

I am all here for a replacement but I hope this isn't it. I think this site is so prime they either really have to push the boat out for some bold modern (but thoughtful) design or go a more tasteful traditionalist route. This looks like a badly massed10 Farnsworth got infected with cantilevers...

    Boston Easter Eggs

Don't forget these gems too. There is the Parting stone, where the road leaving Boston forked. Found here between Roxbury Crossing and Nubian Square and just a block away is the three mile stone. When doing a little research on my place in Forthill I found that the owner of the estate that...

401 Park Drive (née Landmark Center) | Fenway

I like the fins, they provide much needed texture and rhythm without trying too hard.

Two Congress | Bulfinch Crossing East Parcel | West End

I am all for enclosing Congress and while this cant do much for defining the Greenway the concave, or a well textured/stepped back option, would be a lot less hostile.

Two Congress | Bulfinch Crossing East Parcel | West End

I like their design study better but one thing that the Central Plaza can teach us is that concave forms are MUCH better at defining space then convex forms. I don't get why you'd put a convex façade facing the park.

Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

I think its a winner, something tells me the details will bring this together at the end of the day. An interesting background building that I suspect will age much more gracefully than a lot similar projects around town.

Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

It is more brutalist than I would have thought. I don't mind it honestly.

The Engine (MIT) | 730-750 Main Street | Cambridge

If I had to guess it would be St Cloud which I believe is the manufacturer that NPS uses on their historic projects. https://stcloudwindow.com/historic-aluminum-windows-and-doors/

Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

The glass is helping this pull together quite a bit.

Assembly Innovation Park | 5 Middlesex Ave | Somerville

^ I have heard they can be similar cost depending on the application. The brick is great, the façade/windows lacking any sense of depth is god awful.

500 Boylston Infill | 500 Boylston St | Back Bay

I am pretty sure the community freaked out about getting ride of the open space... though this is clearly soo much better.

One Mystic | 1 Mystic Avenue | Charlestown

I think the Charlestown resistance will boil down to something like "Traffic, traffic, traffic!!! Parking, parking, parking!!!" They nearby brought out the pitchforks when Hood was exploring a concert venue.

North End Cross Street Boutique Hotel | 42 Cross Street | North End

The massing is really good I think and makes the transition from the Greenway into the North End feel much more intentional. This with a few modifications to the fenestration and ground floor activation this going to go a long way to repairing the rough edge left by the highway.

One Mystic | 1 Mystic Avenue | Charlestown

I think that's their attempt to show the build out of Hood Park, which has an approved master plan PDA and I think a few buildings have also received approval. The renderings are bad, the design is meh, those balconies are going to be VEed which honestly might help. I am all for the scale here...
