Bulfinch Triangle Infill & Small Projects

This is for the tiny little triangle along Valenti and n. Washington? Glad they wanna build here, always thought it would be to difficult from an ROI perspective for a developer to build here.

Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Saw them pouring concrete at the station site yesterday. Tried to grab a pic as I went by on the pike but missed.

General Electric HQ (Necco Buildings Reno) | 5 Necco Street | Fort Point

Re: General Electric HQ | Necco St.| Fort Point I wonder if the GE executives are going to be living in places like 22 Liberty and 50 Liberty. Maybe Immelt is the buyer of Millenium Tower Penthouse!

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

If they're gonna do it for key bus routes, I'd actually rather they did it for every stop, on every line. Some sort of GPS guided algorithm recording so that it knows at each stop to list the specific # bus connection for that stop. Wouldn't be much help to the people who ride every day and...

One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

I don't care too much either way about how it appears, I just like that the building has PRESENCE. Notable presence where before there was notable absence, and the intersection itself dominated the spot. It's a great improvement over the nothing that was in the space, though I can see why some...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Maybe wishful thinking but any chance the base is built in such a way that when it comes time to build the towers, they could change the height of the res tower to the originally approved 600 feet and be ok from an engineering standpoint?

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link Would you be able to board a train at "South Station Under" (for lack of a better name?) and then get off at the "North Station Under" platform and switch to a different train for free? In other words, if you got to the south station platform and boarded the first...

The Benjamin & VIA (née One Seaport Square) | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport Are these two buildings connected in the middle? I thought it was supposed to be sorta like Hub on Causeway where the middle was a giant entrance to both, but now I'm wondering if they're actually going to be 2 separate structures?

    Crazy Transit Pitches

F-line, would the new Tufts transfer station allow riders from Dudley (or anywhere on Washington st.) to change to a Seaport destination green line train? Or would they need to go to Boylston Station to switch ?

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Would be great to see this flurry of activity in other neighborhoods close to downtown like Charlestown and Eastie too, most of the new stuff looks great tho!

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Re: The Boston Garden (TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End So they knocked it down to appease neighborhood opposition, even tho it was approved at 600'? I kno I should drop the height issue, and this will be my last post on the subject, but I don't see why they lowered the...

Books about Boston development, architecture, and urbanism

Arlington, I think you might be talking about The Race Underground, written by Doug Most. Also I have to second "A City So Grand", I really enjoyed that one. Edit: I would also add "The Boston Irish: A Political History" by Thomas O'Connor

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Sorry for bumping this thread, but had a question about the Silverline tunnel under D St. always being pined for on this board. Does anyone with knowledge know if this was built with an eventual extension of the tunnel under D st in mind? With the Manulife building thats currently over the...

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Whiskey Priest/Atlantic Beer Garden Redevelopment | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport JSic, the "Sausage Parcel" building will go right in front of those, so it will at least be blocked from that angle. As for the angle rendered from the harbor, maybe its just the render itself, but this...

    Fenway Infill and Small Developments

So it doesn't look like the Fenway stop on the D line will become a pre-pay station, I was kinda hoping that would be included in the Landmark Center expansion. Seems like they could maybe fence off access to the station, forcing users to go thru their new building along the tracks, where a...

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

I've often wondered about extending the redline from Ashmont to Mattapan station, I've heard F-line mention it on here before as a potential project. It seems to me it would fall under reasonable transit pitches, as from what I can tell, there wouldn't be that much to it. Certainly not high on...

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link If this hypothetically got greenlit, what would be the ballpark cost of just electrifying initial lines (literally stringing catenary) and buying electric trains? I understand only a couple of lines might get included in an initial build, so how many new electric...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Re: The Boston Garden (TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End Equilibria, it's not the same design. The render Dave posted has a different facade

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Re: The Boston Garden (TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End I have to agree with davem's comment (post #872), I preferred the original render. Loved the boston garden play and thought the other half's brick siding fit in better with bullfinch triangle. Also liked the variation in...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

I don't suppose they're putting up poles for pantograph lines for future conversion to LRV? That way the only thing needed would be to put rails in the pavement right? I'm almost positive that isn't part of this project, but can anyone confirm?
