Late night T service take 2

I bet the MBTA will argue that the scaled-back hours introduced in March 2015 constitute a new pilot and therefore reset the clock.

    Seaport Transportation

I'm happy that transit priority is being discussed by city officials, but what immediately jumps out at me is the focus on buses and, in particular, the Silver Line. The D Street crossing has become a cause célèbre among some people on Boston Transit Twitter and it's a worthy project. I just...

https://twitter.com/adamtvaccaro/status/701789151683862528 @adamtvaccaro #MBTA says its operating budget deficit for the ongoing fiscal year is now forecast at $95m, about $75m lower than previously projected. I wonder if this is the result of any structural changes. Does a mild winter...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Everything from the state and the MBTA seems to be focused on deciding which aspects of the GLX to cut or pare down. I'm having trouble understanding this mentality. I'm sure you can find some savings here and there by scaling down stations, etc. But from my POV the largest issue - by far -...

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

Natick reaches agreement with CSX on the Cochituate Rail Trail. They've agreed on a purchase price, but Natick still has to find the funding. This is the stretch of ROW that connects Natick center to the short section in Framingham that has already been built.

Bike lanes in Marlborough? I stumbled across this - I don't actually know much about Marlborough. It just didn't strike me as the sort of place that would be putting in any bike infrastructure, however modest.

River Path from Galen Street to Bridge Street closed for maintenance work I don't think we've covered this one yet. Another portion of the river paths being rehabbed. So Watertown is doing (1) this stretch west of Watertown Sq, (2)Greenough Greenway. DCR is looking at (3) Anderson underpass...

I'm not entirely sure I fully understand the scope of this project, but I thought it bore mentioning: https://twitter.com/StreetsBoston/status/656462832133906432 More info here But that's from an advocacy foundation, so I'm not sure how much of their vision is being implemented.

    Biking in Boston

They've removed all the temporary fencing from the SCP's Lowell St extension. Obviously that stretch has been functionally open for months now, but the ramp at the Lowell St end now connects. It looks like they still have a little work to do on the stairs.
