Homes Worth More than $1 Million by State

I have enough difficulty keeping up with an 1,100 sq ft space. I couldn't imagine trying to or paying to have somebody clean 5,000 sq ft (give or take). For $300,000 in the immediate Bay Area, you'd get nothing. Decent studio apts. are rarely under $250K either.

For you DTDave....anything. :) Slacking, my ass! It's the first and third Saturdays of the month for the Paramount tour. You'll be back in time for this Saturday, yes? You're the photog with the bitchin gear, so get your butt over to the theatre. I've been kinda busy myself. I'll not repost...

DTDave--The San Francisco Fog Beat You Back

Ha! I returned here from Boston on May 3rd. We passed in the air? You've missed the heat wave--six days of 80s/90s/100s. Had five spare the air days in a row beginning last Thursday. It's too soon for that, though. Not really necessary for the last two IMO either. Anyway, during the first three...

Homes Worth More than $1 Million by State

I was walking to lunch from work and I passed a street sign in SOMA, near the Filipino Community Center, on one of the small service/alley-like streets with the name Lapu Lapu. Curious--wonder what it means? Does your gf have any insight, patrick. Now to get this thread somewhat back on topic...

Photo of the Day, Boston Style - Part Deux

Funny, I was wondering if it was Winthrop, but I don't recall it being that hilly. Plus I thought it too obvious....thinking too much... Seaside towns on grey-ish days are soooo New England...to me anyway. Liking all the new perspectives on the city...and surrounding areas. Don't forget...

    Intercontinental Hotel

^ Don't recall that at all. I'd like some visual confirmation. My dad has parked on Fan Pier (until recently) since the 60s, so I used to walk by that location frequently. Hmmm, maybe that's where his turquoise color preference originated?

Photo of the Day, Boston Style - Part Deux

Now that's a town! (seaside?) I could stare at that all day rather than some city's skyline full of 'scrapers. Impulse is to say NoShore, but where...? (Lynn, Nahant...?)

    Kendal Square Residential

Hm! I thought that WAS your home, and the place in North Beach was your hotel? :P  DTDave--back in Boston, MA, USA. Taking pictures in the gloom and fog (because it follows you everywhere you go, right? So stay away from the Bay Area then, eh. :) ) I always thought that a NASA logo...

    Your favorite bands!

Renowned record producer Arif Mardin dies at 74 No matter what you think of him and his stable of artists, he certainly had a profound effect on the pop music world. And he was a Berklee alumnus.

    Bikes On The T

Well, it's about time! Though given the climate, not as helpful for about half the year in the Northeast. I use the bike trains when taking CalTrain down the peninsula (toward San Jose) to hang with friends, rather than drive. One of my friends commutes to work from SF to Palo Alto this way...

    Recent visit to Portland

I would make sure you wear Birkenstocks and tattered cut-offs, a t-shirt that proclaims "Gentrification is Good for All (including Hicks)" with patrick's face plastered on the front of a bulldozer, plenty of rainbow flag paraphernalia (of course) proclaiming marriage equality, and set up a...

    Washington, DC

Maligning the East Side is a mistake. Granted the area between the Capitol and RFK stadium can become progressively more dicey and decrepit on a block by block basis, but within ten blocks toward and around Eastern Market is quite the neighborhood. My favorite in all of the DC metro. (And where...

So that's why my friend's last name is Chavez?! I never knew that, patrick. archBost educates me in ways I never knew possible! (And in ways I've regretted.) :P

    City Pictures

Finally getting the hang of your new camera, patrick? These look sharper than in the past. Or did you punch up the colors on the first twenty pics or so? Love Hadlock Field. Must get up there somethime to catch a game. BTW--your lightning photo over the field--I sent it around to a few of my...

Boston's sign police conduct a sweep

If I had my small shop on Newbury, I'd close it in an act of defiance and protest, and convince many other businesses to do the same. Many of these small concerns are likely squeaking by, given the rents many of these small businesses owners are paying. I'd move myself to East Cambridge or...
