    Bridj

Bridj is winding down. I'm a bit surprised; it seemed they found some good routes that are definitely underserved by the MBTA. Pour one out for them, their demise seems more the result of the fundraising environment and demand for growth than the economics of their service.

8-10 Waldo Street | Coolidge Corner | Brookline

Yeah, months ago. In response, the building got a haircut from 21->12 stories and 320->299 units. Still has 333 parking spaces, which is way too many.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

What systems? Those like St. Louis where the trains don't have to stop at lights? MetroLink doesn't have great frequencies and may not go where you want, but they have gates and don't put up with this nonsense that cars can have priority over light rail.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Building too much on spec will hurt odurandina's goals of seeing lots of stuff built. Too much spec office space will spook investors and you'll see a drought of development for a decade plus. Steady increases in office space at roughly the pace of demand actually does more office prices as it...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District reads like lobbying. It isn't like they have to travel far.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium Why would South Boston want to give up one of its treasured parks? Honestly, every neighborhood in Boston should have large parks and great rec centers like Southie.

Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Boston Landing will be Zone 1 according to the schedule. This saves money for those commuting from the suburbs to Boston Landing, but raises the prices for nearby residents headed downtown. Edited to add: I just realized that means it costs less to travel from Worcester to Boston Landing ($6...

    City Undervaluing Property

In many cities, people complain about the city assessing property values too high. In Boston, I've found the city often assesses residential properties ~10% lower than their market value, which is understandable because it reduces complaints and doesn't really affect anything due to prop 2 1/2...

    Please stop.

Re: Fan Pier It is obviously worth mentioning that Vertex was forced to reduce its tax incentives and pay some money to both the state and city when it didn't meet its hiring targets. That is, $8MM of the $22MM in tax breaks were paid back. The two Vertex buildings now generate ~$12MM in...

Omni Hotel @ BCEC | Summer St | Seaport

Definitely something off about that picture. It is the side facing the convention center, but the cut for the valet is missing. The rendering below it appears to be zoomed out from the same orientation and you can see pillars that would have the valet under cover of the floors above. Those...

    Comm Ave Bridge Replacement.

The bridge replacement won't be. End of story. They already delayed the project by a year because they weren't ready to do it in the short timeline last year. I apologize if I contributed to this diversion somehow because I feel like it turned into a bunch of weird speculation when reality is...
