    Suffolk Downs Casino?

I wonder if they would build it on the side of the track near the marsh, so that it would have easy access to the T? That could be one highlight, considering the Suffolk Downs stop hardly gets any traffic. They are beautiful renders, you can't deny that. Maybe they look like they belong...

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: South Boston Seaport *tear. But honestly, those models/renders don't look that much different from the Fan Pier master plan.

Definitely a mall, there's a Westfield sign on the construction fence. I like the grand staircase, to a point. It would be a cool feature for a stadium or something of the sort.

Ditto, who the hell cares? That illustration is terrible - BK and Walmart? Plus, no sign would be that conspicuous or as jarringly offensive.

This is unfortunately true, but the Red Sox kid is better than the awful Kansas State photoshop-job that went around during the NCAA tournament.

Funny, I've never once had an issue with Logan. I prefer it over most airports I've been to, especially that new Delta terminal (A?).

Re: Liberty Wharf (Jimmy's Harborside) I love Mies. All of his work. On the lifetime to-do list, is to live in a Mies building. Lake Shore Drive, maybe? That Barcelona Pavillion is a wonder, too.

Re: Liberty Wharf (Jimmy's Harborside) Started over at the Harvard Grad Housing, no? Someone mentioned it was like Alucobond over in the Netherlands (in terms of use as a design crutch). I like it though.

I thought Uno's was pretty much going out of business? They closed a bunch in St. Louis as well, I had heard they were in a bit of trouble. Surprisingly, too. It was always my favorite chain restaurant...for what that's worth.

    Boston population rises to 645K

Shepard, I'm partial to your plan, primarily because of what czsz noted: ...but I'm not entirely convinced that "educational fund distribution" is a good idea, regardless of feasibility (in this political climate, I can't see it happening anytime soon). If these suburbs are given independent...

Not if the road design is such that it slows cars down. Right now, the road design does exactly the opposite.

Charles River Esplanade Given Landmark Status

That's a solid idea, Lurker. Traffic nightmare during construction, but if executed correctly, a great end result. Just make sure the tunnel is designed to hold buildings above this time.

    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

Exactly: we have some of the greatest talent in the nation (the world?). How can the public take advantage of that? By injecting it into everyday lives. I'd posit that the reason jazz has become such an 'elitist art' is precisely because it's institutionalized. I bet students would love the...

Liberty Mutual Tower | 157 Berkeley Street | Back Bay

Re: Liberty Mutual plans major Boston expansion One of the things it seems people overlook. Aesthetically, the Seaport has attractive public infrastructure. Nice, wide, concrete sidewalks, well-lit, etc. They would easily accommodate a great deal of pedestrian activity. The roads may be a bit...
