Thanks but it's not my solution. If implemented, the regional rail discussed at length on this forum and advocated for by many would address many train problems. Reducing crowding at the stations is one benefit.

All of this is true. Want to fix it? Two words: Regional Rail. If trains leave every 15 minutes instead of 45+ and you aren't trying to jam 1000 people on each train, the crowds will thin out because missing one isn't that big of a deal.

More specifically regarding South Station, what would construction phasing look like? In all of the presentations to MassDOT and MBTA we have still never seen their plan for maintaining railroad operations while in construction.

MEMA is in Framingham because it is where the doomsday bunker was located during the cold war. It has nothing to do with population centers. Proximity to the Pike was probably the primary selection criteria then.

Metro also has the cool coffered ceilings, brutalist stair/escalators, and dramatic up-lighting to highlight it all. Most T stations don't have those attributes so I'll take the light.
