    Do You Like Cats?

I've learned so much today. I don't know why I hadn't clicked on this thread before. There are three cat-related stories that are pretty cool in the context of Boston architecture: 1. The Prudential Tower's "fabric" Did you know that the Prudential Tower's green-patterned skin was inspired...

Where am I? The photo contest

I've been thinking about this one for awhile... I think I know it but I'm not going to guess yet. At first I thought it was Avenir, but now I think it's something else...

Where am I? The photo contest

I didn't take the pic, so I'm not exactly sure, but it's around the 8-10th floor of the Hancock Tower, looking out towards Cambridge. Here's the full picture that I used for the crop-job: Doesn't somebody else want to join this thrilling game? The suspense is killing me.

    archBOSTON Meetup 12/03/09

I have to be somewhere at 7pm and rarely get out of work before 6pm so unless you're still around at 8-ish I won't be able to make it.

Photo of the Day, Boston Style: Part III

Those houses are on Sawyer Avenue - about a 3-5 minute walk from here on Jones Hill - also in the Bayside/Savin Hill area. I love this neighborhood, but was extremely hesitant to move here back in the day... now I'm a big cheer-leader/nerd for it!

Bingo! Boston02124 wins. You're looking at the former Hard Rock building, The Clarendon, the Old Hancock, and the dead give-away... 500 Boylston with the arched window and concrete ball adornments on the podium roof. Here's another from the same garage:

Photo of the Day, Boston Style: Part III

Autumn in Dorchester's Bayside/Savin Hill area: Just some random iPhone pics while walking the dog... This is the report my real estate agent sends me every quarter, the photo is Savin Hill Avenue - looks haunted! (If the mods think this is too spammy let me know - i'm reprinting...

Where am I? The photo contest

I thought it could be fun for people to post kind of obscure photos and have people guess where in Boston (or Greater Boston) the photo was taken. I'll go first: Where am I?

    Fenway Infill and Small Developments

While that is great news I am sorry for the loss of a great, high-tax-generating, luxury housing (above the restaurants) opportunity.

Atlantic Wharf (née Russia Wharf) | Atlantic Ave | Waterfront

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf) Nice to see Banker & Tradesman giving the FP3 publicity team a printed blowjob. A little reporting would show that after SLASHING prices (surprise-surprise) the units started to sell. That is what we call in real estate "a failure". Housing in this...

    BCEC expansion | Seaport

Sicilian - these people that the Globe is referring to have shown a history of fighting commercial developments in favor of residential developments. Or, "homes and parks" as we've heard so many times before. Obviously, as a massive, $1B commercial development is proposed it is correct and...

    Stuart Street

The whole state transportation block could be removed and replaced with a 700 footer - casting inglorious shadows all over the Boston Heroin Common. Same with the block next to it that houses the Tam and the porn shop. The block next to the Radisson Hotel could easily sprout a nice 300-500...

Atlantic Wharf (née Russia Wharf) | Atlantic Ave | Waterfront

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf) From now until Mayor Menino dies, all we can have in this city are stumps. Taking that as a given, I actually like what the architects were able to do with this stump... The slight angle to the harbor-facing facade is a very nice, slightly unusual...

    315 on A | 315 A Street | Fort Point

Re: A st Highrise Sicilian - I want to apologize for my rash, knee-jerk comment the other day regarding your post. I am currently working on a project (not in this area) that "the neighborhood" demanded more "open space" for, and the result has been tragic. In order to appease (or to shut-up)...
