Probably gonna get a lot of hate but never have I been in awe of the Citgo sign, especially knowing that it's a Venezuelan state-owned oil company filled with corruption. I realize its an iconic symbol in Fenway but honestly couldn't care less.

Admittedly, I haven't followed this topic all that closely but now I'm intrigued. Could someone post before / after pics?

I would have expected that to be much higher percentage. Personally, I can't even recall the last time I actually drove into Logan. Typically it's bus service.

At least they are finally getting rid of the blight of the neighborhood. Once removed, then perhaps that will be the impetus to get something aesthetically pleasing and functional.

I was there last weekend on business and was very impressed. Nice mix of businesses, hotels, restaurants (City Works) great cityscape layout with string lighting. There were so many people walking around, very lively. Only drawback was the tight traffic flow but other than that, very impressed.

wow ... didn't realize my post would be so grossly misunderstood. I don't give two shits they are razing that old mansion given its current (or previous) condition. My point was solely based on seeing what was once a magnificent estate fall into ruin by neglect or whatever reasons led to it...

FAA height limit is very restrictive in the downtown / financial district. I think it's in the 650' range. But agreed, to impose a height limit of 500' may be a non-starter for most developers. Did the article mention why ... and please don't even mention the damn shadow on the common BS.

I thought Massport's goal was to dramatically reduce the traffic flow to Logan by promoting public transit so this completely contradicts the mandate from just a few years ago. My takeaway is that they need the $$ that a parking garage will generate to sustain Logan's budget.
