You should run for councilor. Too many asleep while folks with more nefarious intentions do their thing.

I admire your idealism, but car free in Quincy, even in this location, is a tough sell. A spot per unit seems reasonable to me, even though I do share your desire to see trends shift away from cars.

For the Quarry St proposal looks like they will demolish this granite house. But the vinyl clad insurance office landscaped with asphalt shall remain. I understand they don't own that property but...

Then I'll start a very small club for people who like Center Plaza. I think Pemberton Square could suck less if it wasn't treated like an alley where vans get stored. If it had a tree canopy and some activation along the Center Plaza side then it would be a cool, intimate space, like Bow Mkt but...

I wonder if we can just spend $80 mil every 10 years and "preserve" it a couple dozen times. I think we'll be dealing with a different set of problems by then, possibly sooner. ;)

The paradoxical effects of progressives and urbanism - article and book / and discussion

I think it was Richard Florida's Rise of the Creative Class that argued as jobs became more highly skilled, companies started moving to areas with a talent pool instead of workers moving to areas with jobs. Fusion reactor at Devens. 3-D Printing at Devens

Regarding frivolous energy use, I was referring to the emergence of data centers that consume as much electricity as a small city. Yes, we've always been inefficient, but then new uses arrive that allow us to waste even more. Also you'll notice that most new homes are lit up like a 7-eleven...

    Quincy Center Redevelopment

Such abuses of eminent domain use. That's a fine block and he's going to chop it up for a tax dollar bonfire. I think his last grab was the block further south on Hancock that will one day serve as the entrance plaza to his buddy Hale's condo high-rise.
