City to plant more than 100,000 trees

Good! I hope the city takes on more responsibility ion leading the way to cleaning up the environment. If you ask me, this is more important than building skyscrapers.

I take offense to that. :P

    115 Federal St. (Winthrop Square)

I stand corrected. But I have also heard that the original design was actually sold to another developer. ( Maybe in Chicago?) In any case, I guess my point is that it's common that architect's originals get tweaked.

    115 Federal St. (Winthrop Square)

But I don't think this situation is uncommon. I've heard that Philip Johnson walked off the 500 Boylston Street project. The original design had two of that building connected at the rotunda and it was taller. The city/developers didn't want that so Johnson left the project and it was tweaked to...

That first picture is awesome. It's an angle of that area I've never seen.

    Children's Museum Expansion

Thanks, guys! I can't believe I hadn't heard about it. If it actually happens that could be one of the most exciting projects in quite some time.

    Children's Museum Expansion

 I hadn't heard any of this! That's fantastic news. But I just went to their site and didn't see anything about it. So, I have questions. I don't mean to stray too far off topic, but, where do they have the space to expand? Also, I think it's interesting because in her will, Isabella...

    Children's Museum Expansion

Ok, well, we'll just have to wait and see if any kids complain. I mean, what do you want? It's colorful. It's textural. It's interesting and I would say somewhat whimsical.

To hell with the kids! I love it!

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

That's the best idea I've heard. Who knows, maybe in five to ten years that area won't be dead after business hours. The Boston Farmers Market could be just the people to pioneer that area and give it some life.

    ICA | 100 Northern Ave | Waterfront

Thank God! I'm so sick of hipsters! The only thing worse than hipsters are the hipster ghettos. I live between New York and Boston now. I can't believe how "groovy" New York has become. Unfortunately, it's only on the outside. New York is as gentrified as any other big city and three times as...

Yeah, this area is in serious need of some landscaping.

    115 Federal St. (Winthrop Square)

Personally, I think they all look out of place. They're too tall. Maybe seeing it with the addition of the new South Station Tower will convince me. But looking at the renderings I don't think the height compliments Boston's skyline. I'd like to see one or two more buildings close to that height...

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Pfft! Who cares! It's not even an area yet! Build something and then I'll worry about what the politicians want to call it. Gee, I'm so glad we settled on the name "The Rose Kennedy Greenway" ten years ago. That really seems to have sped the process along. :) :P
