    Rose Kennedy Greenway

Well, that's the project that, in my opinion, is really most beneficial to the city. If they do that right it could push Boston's arts and theater reputation up quite a bit internationally.

I think the new design looks good. Seriously, it's better than what's there at the moment. And when the new Mandarin Hotel is finished that whole block is going to appear very different. I think it's going to really kick start Boylston Street.

So, the center for arts and culture is still a go? I wish there was a better system or website for getting updated as to what is still going to get built and what has been canceled.

Anybody can join The YMCA. I don't think it's considered a highly religious institution. The point is that now when The Y builds a facility it's usually state of the art. It would be nice to have an Olympic sized pool and other sports facilities.

The Y is also going to include a community center for the people of The North End.

    Hmm, you may be right.

I hope you're right. But I thought it was a financial situation more than structural. But maybe the YMCA didn't have the money to build the caps. I guess my frustration is that it seems like after ten years of hearing about how great this space would be now that the dig is almost done every...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

I'm really starting to think this project is a total mess. It's sad really, because it was a huge benefit to having to live through The Big Dig. I get the feeling that now the most of the projects that were originally slated for a place on The Greenway can't afford to build there, the committee...

    Apple Store Thread ][

So, I just was walking by the site of the future Apple Store and some executive types were in there. The door was open so I decided to pop my head in. It turns out the execs were from the copy store. But, they told me that Apple now has control of the building and the store is a go. It's just a...

    Cool Boston pics.

Re: More cool Boston pics Hey, thanks for posting these. They're great. It's always cool to see what people from other cities come up with for pictures when they visit.

I like too design too. I don't think it's out of place. In fact, as I said before, I think a glass tower down there will only help.

    Emerson College's Paramount Center

I did email the mayor, earlier this week, concerning civic pride and told him I thought all this building was good for the city. Yes. I'm responsible for all this. How will you ever thank me?

Marriott Moxy Hotel | 240 Tremont Street (Parcel P-7A) | Theater District

Well, those aren't the kinds of people that should be buying there. But the real task will be for the developers to create an exciting enough environment to make that sort of person want to live in that area. Boston's not really known for its loud raucous nightlife. If they do a half assed job...

Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

I used to live in a loft over there. It's basically illegal because it's zoned as commercial space. But some landlords turn a blind eye. My bet is that people who are living in commercial buildings will be driven out by price, if not by new development.

Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

Wow! Is Boston actually gonna get hip and exciting? Actually, I like this idea. But I'm sure it won't come without a cost. This project will make this area even more expensive to live and more difficult for artists to afford. Yet, I can't help but feel sort of excited to watch the area transform.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I used to live right down the street from that Hearst building. I left New York a few months before construction started. I still can't decide if I like it or not. As for glass buildings, I think maybe they'll work better in that area when there are a few more of them. As it is now almost...

These are fantastic! They are a great representation of the wharf district today.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

In this particular case doesn't the "too tall" argument have something to do with flight pats and the airport? I thought I had heard that. In any case, my feeling is that as long as it's architecturally interesting I really don't care too much about height. I'd rather have an interesting...
