Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

Welcome to the neighborhood davem! In other news, AVA residents received a notice in the mail today to notify us of future construction work in the area. Phase 2 will kick off as early as summer 15 (21 story residential high rise; 100 unit condo and 200 room hotel) I thought at first the...

Public Food Market | 136 Blackstone Street | Haymarket | Downtown

Yeah its already there and I doubt they had enough funding to really focus on the exterior all that much. Add a nice sign and some cool lighting and most off all fill the inside up with good shit to eat and I think its a major win. One of my favorite markets anywhere is Jean Talon Market in...

I moved into the area recently as well and agree. I will say that on a Friday and Saturday night, all the bars and restaurants are completely packed and people are around until at least midnight-1am. Even during the week there is a good crowd in most of the establishments. Its still not a...

Public Food Market | 136 Blackstone Street | Haymarket | Downtown

I believe the Parcel 9 proposal with the 2 story "International market" is viewed as a compliment to this proposal. Once that is up and running you will have an entire market district that covers the entire globe. Also included is the new dedicated space for the Haymarket Push cart vendors...

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

Not to quote my own post but could this be the Asian project that we started discussing here? (http://www.archboston.org/community/showpost.php?p=219712&postcount=1956) Seems to somewhat line up.

Thanks! The 3rd-5th floors of the parking garage give you a great view of the project.

Would that bump Bloomingdales? or would there be enough space for both? Not sure how much retail space is in that project.

Radian (Dainty Dot) | 120 Kingston Street | Chinatown

The chef husband and wife team opening this restaurant ran arguably the best restaurant in Providence. Them closing up shop and moving to Boston with more room to work with, plus easier access to great ingredients is a huge win for the culinary scene in the area. The guy won three consecutive...

Mayor Walsh Calls for Better Architecture/Urban Design

Everyone should email their state rep and CC Baker, De Leo and Rosenberg and try to push this as hard as we can. In my view all these initiatives are no brainers, but apparently De Leo blocked it last time around.

Pier 4 Condo Building (Former Anthony's site) | Seaport

Re: Pier 4 Residential Tower | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport The do really nice work. Definitely expect something different from what we are accustomed to in Boston. I guess this is Marty's first opportunity to show us if he is serious about pushing the design boundaries.

http://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/2015/01/05/ioc-president-thomas-bach-new-olympics/owBo8n6R9rs21ZduqyeKPM/story.html I have to admit, I searched to see if he published anything similar in any other paper and could not find one. It does seem strange he chose to speak to Boston directly over...

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Latitude 360 is already planning to open a couple blocks away on Washington st. So that would fill the nightclub/bar/bowling alley void for the area. Michael Mina has already signed on to plan the residents food/bar menu. Maybe he could be convinced to open a Bourbon Steak, which would be...

Mayor Walsh Calls for Better Architecture/Urban Design

Walsh really does say all the right things, most of the time. The question is how does he make it financially feasible to build something eye catching and not VE'd to death.

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

Depending on how large they build this, it could take on the feel of a town on its own. Something similar to Pacific Mall in Toronto (Markham to be exact) except less suburban would be great.
