New Red and Orange Line Cars

The Cabot Yard project is currently out for public bid. The drawings come in at over 1gb, I heard. Suspect that a shorter version might be available somewhere.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I don't think Councilor McCarthy has delegated this to a staffer, but his Chief of Staff, Lee Blasi, seems to play an oversized role in anything parking or transportation related. She has repeatedly expressed skepticism about reduced parking minimums and development. She is very supportive of...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

While I'm sure what has to be the busiest store on that section of Washington St, Archdale Liqueur, has quite a few customers, I'm sure their daily customer base is far, far less than the 19,000 daily bus riders along this corridor. But, I also tend to think that much of the concern from Dan...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

A half-assed solution you say? It will help get people to school and work on time, but, as you say, won't be the game changer to get people back onto public transportation. When this was first publicly discussed about 18 months ago at City Hall, the Mayor's Dept of Neighborhood Services Dan...

    Tell Me Where to Live

Jamaica Plain, most anywhere directly along the Orange Line for a less urban feel, closer to Centre St for the more urban feel. You also might be able to find something in the South End at your price range - but the backyard will just be a garden.

Similar slow speed issue SB between Tufts and Back Bay, I think it's even more painful. Before Community College, I just like to pretend that were on a roller coaster and just reaching the peak before we speed away.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Older but not. Canal was also closed in maybe '97 or '98 for an Irish music fest; I remember going in the evening and enjoying some Gaelic Punk. Street closings used to be far more common in the '90s, even Newbury was closed for a day as part of a jazz or swing fest around the same time.

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

When I saw the rendering for that Choo project on Hyde Park Ave, I vomited a little in my mouth. The progress shots make me think I need to restock my pepto bismol supply.

    Biking in Boston

Hey DZ, get with the tiimes why don't you; these days pussy is about power and self determination. Don't slander it. And remember to wear your helmet when you drive your car, you are far more likely to use it when driving.

Don't blame the victim; blame the coward that ran him over and left him for dead. Our streets belong to all of us, to use at anytime.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

The articulating Silver Line buses also completely destroyed the very pretty granite paver sidewalks that they installed on Washington Street in the South End and around South Station. I think that the City won a court case against the MBTA for the damage. edited because I can't tell one...

Well, most of us were asleep! Seriously, glad to many of those, especially those from less frequently photo'd locations. Can't wait to see the ground level finished and the landscaping done - yes, I know I'm will have to wait until next year...

    Paul Rudolph's Government Services Center

I apologize if I was unnecessarily harsh with this statement, it surely could have been written far better. To be fair, architects of the time were trying to create better places for people to work and live and were re-imagining how people could work in a manner not too unlike some of today's...
