Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center Two wrongs don't make a right. And hasn't there been talk about development on this parcel and the BB Station?

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center Ned, 1) Did Columbus Center EVER propose this 2 acre park on Parcel 18? According to you they must have or else it would not be possible to omit. 2) Would you rather see the parks on Parcel's 17 and 19 eliminated to obtain the '2-acre contiguous park' on Parcel 18? 3)...

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center 1) Transit Oriented Development. Higher density near public transportation. 2) 600+ Parking Spaces would make for one ugly 12 story garage on Parcel 16. 3) Civic Vision's guideline for the taller building to be located on Parcel 16.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: South Boston Seaport Don't forget the Orange Line and Commuter Rail at Back Bay Station.

    Northeastern eyes dorms

FYI. The gold certification is more difficult to get than the silver. The highest LEED Certification is Platinum. And to get that many points the building would probably need a green roof.

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center Ned, 1) I don't understand why you keep bringing up scheduling as an issue. What exactly are you expecting from a developer? 2) How can you honestly say that the developers and BRA didn't address the publics comments. This project has completely changed since it was...

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower According to Linda Rodriguez: "The few blocks around this project, two buildings, one a 19-story and the other a 30-story, are under construction at the Prudential, as is a nine-story building with 350 units of housing at the corner of Clarendon and...

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center The parking was originally part of the Tower, but in an effort to work with the community and keep the height of the tower down they moved all the parking to parcel 18. And even though most of the parcel is a garage, It will be surrounded by townhouses on Arlington...

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Re: Copley Place plan calls for condo tower I hope that is just the Globe's interpretation. That building doesn't even build on the plaza at Dartmouth and Stuart Streets.

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

I think the massing is right on. Look at the building floor plates compared to the warehouse buildings. They seem comparable. Then look at them compaired to the Fidelity West Building. That building makes the seaport square buildings seem small in comparison. And I like how the greenspace...

    The Boston Bypass

That Unicorn Lane would probably get more traffic than all of the dedicated HOV Lanes currently going to the airport.

    1330 Boylston Street | Fenway

I think PDA stands for Planned Development Area. The intention was to promote developement in depressed areas of the city. But now it is used only as a way for the city to get around the current zoning (which should be overhauled in my opinion). There may be up to tweny different PDA's...

    1330 Boylston Street | Fenway

Does anyone know when the PDA expires for the fenway area? I think I remeber that a 7 year window allowed for this larger development. With only 2 projects and nothing else close in the pipeline, I'm concerned that the Burger Kings, Mcdonalds, and Goodyears of the world are going to be much...

    Cape Wind Farm

That new windmill may be in Chelsea. It is just accross the water from East Boston as you drive up 1A by the gas tanks. The construction cranes were still there this weekend, so it isn't in operation yet.

    BU Development Thread

Re: New BU Tower Anyone else notice that the steel is now missing from the top of these buildings? I thought it was going to be a composite panel cornice above the curtainwall. I hope that it comes back or else this building becomes very plain.

    Harvard - Allston Campus

It's Rollins Square. That is probably the best example I've seen to date. I also think the Metropolitan in Chinatown turned out rater well for being more that 50% affordable.

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

That Scar sure didn't heal very well..... These pictures couldn't illustrate any clearer how Boston is completely missing the opportunity to develop and create an active neighborhood downtown. These Wharf parcels should all be developed.

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Re: Waterside Place I don't think the Krafts were looking for a publicly financed stadium in Boston. (Probably just some infrastructure moneys like they asked for in Foxboro) The Krafts were looking for an approved location to build in South Boston and unfortunatley didn't get. I always get a...

⚫ One Marina Park @ Fan Pier | One Marina Park Drive | Seaport

Re: Fan Pier Now that looks like a destination. However if it was built at that time the high rises probably would have ended up looking like Harbor Towers.
