True, but I-90 is below all those surface roads. 6 to 8 lanes depending on ramps and hov lanes.

[ARCHIVED] Harbor Garage Redevelopment | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

Are you looking for a more monumental building for the location? This building was completely renovated in the late ninety's and one could argue that it has the nicest facade facing the greenway after Rowes Wharf.

Green Line D branch: complete summer shutdown

I would hardly call this temporary busing adequate. You could almost walk this in 90 minutes. Can we check Mac Daniels bank account? There has to be a nice deposit from the MBTA for spreading this propaganda.

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

czsz, You do realize that this parcel sits directly over I90, HOV Lanes, Exit Ramps, and the Silverline Tunnel. The nature of this parcel makes it extremely cost prohibitive to create a street grid. There will be an extension of the street grid at both Fan Pier and Hynes (formerly McCourt...

Avalon Exeter | 77 Exeter Street | Back Bay

I still don't see where this tower is going to fit in, unless a portion of it is going to be built over Lord and Taylor. There just doesn't seem to be enough room at the garage entrance. Has anyone seen a rendering?

I think Rowes Wharf has 5 levels of underground parking. Independence Wharf has underground parking and Russia Wharf will have underground parking. And with Russia Wharf they also have to deal with the Silverline tunnel that runs underneath the building.

    Transit oriented developments in Boston

I like that idea, just not at this location. Riverside is the suburbs and residents would need a car to do just about anything. (especially since the T shuts down at night)

GrandMarc Residence Hall (YMCA) @ Northeastern U | 291 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

Re: NU students are spoiled brats This is the right location. There are fewer residents on this side of Huntington Ave.

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

I'll admit I didn't read the articles, but I think your units are off. 10,000 rides/year is the equivalent of about 27 people a day. I think this is supposed to be 10,000 per day and with the fact that many of the future Urban ring users already use public transportation (urban ring is...

And the facade is precast concrete. (even the detailed emblems)

    W Hotel | 100 Stuart St | Theater District

I guess I never really thought about this but after seeing the old foundations, does anyone know what building used to be located here?

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

It is unfortunate, but this is the reality...... Many families are now having kids in the city, but leave when they are old enough for school. I'm going to be facing the same decision myself in a few years. My only certainty at this point is that I know I won't be sending my child to Boston...

    Night Owl Bus Serivce

Can anyone explain to me why the cabs in Boston can't coordinate to make the light on top of the cab actually mean something? My only problem is that I spend too much time trying to flag down cabs that already have passengers. How hard is it to turn the light on when looking for a fare and...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Interesting article with many facts and quotes, unfortunately the author was hell bent on writing a negative article regardless of what her own research indicates. That is 83% sold and it was only completed within the past year Condo Sales are going very well for a building that is barely...

I think that is an all rental building.

Boston Properties Office Tower | 888 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Didn't one of the neighborhood association encourage this building to be taller?

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

LOL. I can only identify the problem, fixing it is something else. This kind of change needs to come from the top and would really turn into a political battle. I think too many people like things the way they are.

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Good Question. It should come from the City Planning Department (Does Boston even have one or was it swallowed up by the BRA?) and it should be a complete overhaul of the city zoning code. Unrealistic Zoning causes developers create the mega-blocks in order to gain the height to make projects...

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Re: ... I think it is the city who needs to change the rules. I've given up on the high profile parcels by the water. Where I really want to see scaled down residential development is south of summer street. There is a lot of land there, especially across D street from the convention...

Thanks Padre, and good point about the maintenance of the esplanade.
