I can't remember the exact city, but one muni came up with pre-approved designs. If you stuck with them, you got an expedited permitting process because the city was the one who originated the design.
Whoops, I put this in the wrong thread.
Looks like Newburyport is going to get a bikeshare system next year.

Nope there will still be three lanes across the bridge. One of the changes is to make the rightmost NB lane a right-turn-only lane to allow for signal separation of the bike and ped movements, removing that turning conflict.
How many of us on this forum have reached out to our reps/senators? It's one thing to talk about all these transit and development projects, it's another to actually try and advocate for change. I've been emailing my reps about road safety on DCR owned streets. Hopefully they realize that this...
If the angled parking was replaced with parallel parking, you might be able to squeeze in a bike lane. But overall, this is going to be a huge improvement.
I watched that meeting. The consultants/ planners even said that this is a paper-compliance plan, some of the areas to be rezoned would just match the zoning to what’s out there today and allow like 5 new units of housing across the entire zone.
It seems very risky to put all that funding at...
Does anyone here have a good email to send complaints/concerns about the paths to at DCR? I’m complaining about the tree roots just east of the BU boathouse, they’ve really warped the pavement in one stretch.

Ari O has a good comment along the lines of what you're talking about. I'd rather deal with some very disruptive construction phasing if it meant shaving off significant time of the overall project.
I was talking about the SW Corrudor redesign. But what you’re describing at the JFk intersection is something I’ve felt with as a pedestrian. It’s annoying when a right turning car is on the bridge and blocking the crosswalk.
