Residential Project | 45 West Third | South Boston

I'm with you on this. I'd much rather see a separate building here in the future than one giant monstrosity of a facade. A lot of us (myself included) generally dislike superblocks, and I appreciate the fact that by KO holding out, we have the potential for some variation in design that we...

AVA North Point II | Archtone phase II | East Cambridge

I try to be patient with projects, but I'm with Van on this....it sucks. I spend alot of time in that neck of the woods, and this thing fails on multiple levels: height, massing, facade treatment, and use of 5 over 1 construction. At least the green line viaduct will block it from view.

The Beverly (née Merano) (Parcels 1B & 1C) | Bulfinch Triangle | West End

Yeah, it's lame...despite the fact that the location of this building deserves better (architecturally speaking), I find comfort in the fact that there is at least a greater benefit being generated (workforce housing). Hopefully the hotel that was approved on the small corner parcel next door...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Still too early. I personally don't think we will see it open prior to the rest of the podium, which last I heard was slated to be delivered in Q4 2018. Perhaps it will open slightly before?

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I can't say how common it is, but I've seen it before. Someone did mention upthread that use of this design would make it much easier to cap the podium, since Phase III will be constructed at a later date (aka - you may never see it...sorry, cynicism got the best of me there).

The Benjamin & VIA (née One Seaport Square) | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

In a world of negative nancys, you've always been the glass half-full member of this forum, which I appreciate. I'm also a pro-Seaport guy (transportation issues notwithstanding). My question is whether there is really a need to reach for vindication here? Perhaps I'm misinterpreting your...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

If you zoom out all the way on the webcam, you just can see a corner of it in the bottom left corner of the frame. They are actually pumping concrete into it right now. As of yesterday, they have only formed one level from the bottom. I saw it looking through one of the cutouts in the plywood...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

They are forming the core for the residential tower. Some new steel popped up near the fiture pedestrian tunnel a week or so ago, but nothing really significant or photo worthy.

Avalon North Station | Nashua Street Residences | West End

They put up a fantastic mural in the "wind tunnel" there. Past and present elements of the city. A nice added feature.

The Residences at Alewife Station | 195-211 Concord Turnpike | Alewife | Cambridge

It's a little more complicated that that. While increased impervious surface may remove water quickly from the site, the rapid movement of water downstream can quickly overwhelm downstream drainage infrastructure (or actual waterbodies), which in turn, increases the potential for downstream...

Stillings Garage Expansion | 22 Boston Wharf Rd | Fort Point

^ Can we not get updates on this? This is the only thing more disastrous than the back of the Yotel in this neck of the woods. By the way, I'm just kidding about the updates. I still really hate it.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

They are stanchions that hold up glass panels, allowing pool goers to party without fear off falling 400' to their death ;). If you look closely you can see the glass panels in the render.

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

For the residential tower, just the section they are demolishing currently - all the way to the ground I believe. Future phases will require additional demolition.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

My recollection is that they were moving forward with the residential tower and hotel, but the office tower is on hold until a tenant is secured.

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

This may possibly be grossly over simplified (and perhaps too obvious), but I think the height issue for me boils down to sprawl vs. no sprawl. Low rise construction = lower density in the core Lower density = increased sprawl away from core Increased sprawl = increased infrastructure vs. a...
