Looks great! Really brightens up the space. I assume this same carpet will be installed in the east wing (gates 1-6) too?

Note that this isn't a "breeze-thru" it's a regular layover with a change of plane. PWM to PVU via MCO seems like a fairly inconvenient routing, but it's interesting that Breeze is doing conventional layovers now. Opens up a lot of new possibilities for routes.

Breeze adds PVO. DL responds to MX by adding SLC AA responds to MX and DL by adding PHX UA responds to MX, DL and AA by adding SFO .....A guy can dream... :p

Seems like average loads are 45-60%. Load Factor doesn't matter as much for PQI given that B6 gets a generous EAS subsidy. Like I said the other day about MHT, PQI is basically overflow parking for B6. They overnight an E-190 / A220 at PQI and get it back to BOS by ~7:30 am for a quick turn and...

For JetBlue, MHT is basically Logan overflow. They're very constrained at BOS and shifting some leisure traffic capacity to MHT frees up space at BOS for more high-yielding routes. They're taking the same approach at MHT as they do at PVD: Focusing almost entirely on north-south leisure traffic...

Small correction: The Downeaster is set to get the "B-1" subtype of the Airo which will have a Siemens Charger diesel locomotive and 5 coaches plus a sixth coach/cab at the rear. The coach closest to the locomotive will be an APV (Auxiliary Power Vehicle) with will have a pantograph and...

I assume these mini-highs" are meant for freight clearance. Wouldn't be surprised if CSX is mandating that. Extremely shortsighted nonetheless. The best solution would be two full-height platforms with a center-bypass track for freight, but that's probably more work than NNEPRA or CSX want to...

    General Portland Discussion

It's -very- hard to convert a big suburban office building into housing. They have totally different floorplates which at best results in a lot of windowless interior rooms. Plus, retrofitting plumbing / electrical systems is a complex and costly endeavor. The trend going forward is more...

Some new data from the Boulos Company tracking commercial real estate in southern Maine shows that Portland's downtown office / commercial market is fairly healthy overall, with overall "Class A" office vacancy rates sitting at about 6%. Still higher than pre-covid but on a downward trend and...

Only complaint is that they really should do a better job tidying up the cables leading to the in-seat power ports. It looks sloppy.

PSM-RSW yields are bad? or PWM-RSW yields are bad? Everything I've seen indicates that PWM-RSW does fairly well. Glad to see Breeze upping its game to MCO. I'd love to see them go 5x-7x weekly for next winter / spring. I'm still bracing myself for when F9 inevitably pulls out of PWM. They...

FLL would be a huge benefit. Since AA axed MIA the east coast of Florida has been the biggest gap in PWM's winter "sunshine shuttle" offerings. FLL would be a big win for cruise passengers. Plus B6 funnels a lot of Caribbean / Latin American connections through FLL.

A quick look at the seat map for JetBlue's MCO flights for the next week really shows that this route is 🌟Popular🌟 Based on the seat map (an unscientific method) it looks like anywhere from an 80-95% load factor on average. I really hope JetBlue ups this route to 5x-7x weekly next year!

It looks like Southwest has quietly added some more springtime frequency to BWI starting next week with some days being 4x daily. In the past BWI has been consistently 3x daily until May.

It would make sense for Breeze to have its own dedicated gate. There's the obvious logistical advantage but it's also a "soft incentive" to get Breeze to continue growing at the jetport. Personally (and selfishly as a United loyalist :p ) I'd love to see UA move to the western end of the...
