    Portland International Jetport | PWM

Definitely quite a facility for an airport with a single EAS flight per day, but once this terminal is done I could see UA returning to PQI without federal subsidies and offering a summer-seasonal to EWR. "The County" has slowly been building its tourism / outdoor recreation economy

Looking at Breeze's 2025 summer schedule extension: ISP is no longer bookable. PIT goes to 3x weekly CHS goes 4-5x weekly from March until June and 3x for the rest of the summer. RSW is Breeze-thru only for the summer with a stop in RDU. No new routes

Interestingly, United Express flew a one-off Houston (IAH) - PWM service today using an E-175. I'm sure this was a deadhead / repositioning flight, but it would be nice to see United add IAH.

    South Portland, Maine

https://www.pressherald.com/2024/11/04/yard-south-developer-withdraws-controversial-plan-in-south-portland/ Honestly, not surprising sadly. This has been an uphill battle from the beginning and I think they realized they didn't have the support at the City level.

    General Portland Discussion

It's a 180-day moratorium basically intended to give the Staff and the Council time to fix our broken hotel IZ regulations. At least they're acknowledging that what we have now is a mess of contradictory regulations that undermine our own housing goals by highly incentivizing developers to build...

    General Portland Discussion

A side effect of our garbage "Green New Deal" referendum that punishes any developer with the audacity to try to build housing. Hotel projects pencil out much easier than paying the "fee in lieu" for affordable housing.

This is almost as exciting as the gate expansion and FIS design to me. The carpet in the older half of the terminal is...let's say...."past its prime"

    Portland International Jetport | PWM

More competition is always better but I'll admit I'm skeptical as to whether PWM can sustain 4 carriers to MCO. I do think Breeze and Jetblue could effectively compete with each offering their own daily or near-daily service. It would be nice to see WN step up their game somehow (given their...

Just took a look at bookings for B6's PWM-MCO. These are the seat maps for Wednesday 10/30 and Saturday 11/2. Looks like most of the cabin is sold out on both flights and that service is off to a strong start!

Southwest has been very conservative with route expansions network-wide due to delays with the MAX-7 and issues with the MAX-8's. Their 737-700's are getting old and they aren't able to effectively replace them until the MAX-7 is certified . They barely have enough birds to keep their current...

    Portland International Jetport | PWM

Sun County published their summer '25 schedule and it looks like MSP-PWM is 4-5x weekly from late June through early September. That's an overall capacity increase and better competition with Delta's daily service. It also looks like SY dropped MHT after only one season of service. No flights...

Does this already have Planning Board approval? I haven't seen it on any agendas in the past year or so

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

This is another unintended side-effect of the Green New Deal. It's more cost-effective to just build 9 ultra high-end units than it would be to build say 10-20 smaller more mid-market condo units under all of the GND restrictions (which kick in for projects of 10 units or greater)

    Portland Square Redevelopment | Portland

During the first City Council workshop for ReCode, some Councilors asked how 325 feet was settled on, but seemed overall supportive of the changes in height downtown. If all goes well, ReCode will be adopted and go into effect sometime in January. It's also worth noting that the 325 foot height...

This will be what....the 4th "Alfond Center" in Maine? 5th? 6th? 7th? I've lost count

    465 Congress Street | Portland

In the words of the City's fire marshal....the Time & Temp building is "not fit for any kind of habitation" at the moment. Years of neglect have taken their toll and it's going to take the right developer (and the right tax credit financing) to revive the building. That said...the good news is...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

The tallest parcels will be zoned for 325 ft. Which would equate to a 28-30 story building.

Approved with amendments by the Planning Board. Now the real battle begins....the City Council.

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

It seems that the days of big office towers are behind us. Part of the ReCode changes introduced new dimensional standards for towers (defined as any building above 125 feet) To limit the building's floorplate to 10,000 SF. Typically office buildings have much larger floorplates (14-20,000 SF)...

    Portland International Jetport | PWM

I wish DL and AA would maintain more than 1x daily to ATL/CLT during the winter months, even if one of the flights was on an RJ. Going west from PWM is an expensive hassle from December to May.
