    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Also, EMU service with full highs could reduce travel time to induce more commuters to move southward

MassDOT Rail: Springfield Hub (East-West, NNERI, Berkshires, CT-Valley-VT-Quebec)

And how many drawbridges are there on NEC? And not all the 35 bridges are centered and undercut. Many of the Springfield area bridges are higher. I have the data somewhere, but would need to find it

MassDOT Rail: Springfield Hub (East-West, NNERI, Berkshires, CT-Valley-VT-Quebec)

It might technically be Charlton there. The track and like are 500ft apart. Just west of Rochdale.

Spencer where the track drops to just above the pike and somewhere in the western part of Worcester

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

The bad planning is provision for 50+ layover spaces.

MassDOT Rail: Springfield Hub (East-West, NNERI, Berkshires, CT-Valley-VT-Quebec)

I would expect 3-4 stops between Springfield and Worcester at the most, so EMU acceleration wouldn't make as much difference, really just " curve recovery".

And yet every day, numerous electric trains "coast" across several drawbridges without electrification.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

You are correct about MainSt, but an LRT system could be grade separated at Broadway and Binney

MBTA Red Line / Blue Line Connector

Wht would you necessarily need new elevators and escalators? If much/most traffic is transferring to RL, there might not be that many more people using them to exceed present capacity

MBTA Red Line / Blue Line Connector

The portal was filled in, but should be relatively easy to dig out, and the street is sloping down as the track would be going up, the impact should be much less than cut and cover. The platforms would be at the same height and access would be by existing RL infrastructure

    Green Line Reconfiguration

I still like Ari's idea of a viaduct out of the exstant portal even if it means turning every other train at Bowdoin due to a single tail track. 250M tops and a lot less disruptive

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

This will add at least 250M to the project

Does anyone have access to any diagram of Amtrak's planned Southampton Yard upgrades?

    Crazy Highway Pitches

I think that high speed light rail is the future on that line. Getting affordable heavy rail out past Arlington heights will be rough

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

The T is only planning for 5tph, including Amtrak. Transitmatters calls for 4tph peak and 2tph off from Worcester and an additional 4tph from Framingham. Three possible stop patterns. 8-9tph is not that busy. 9 tph is about 7 minutes per.
