Allston Yards (Stop and Shop) | 60 Everett St | Allston

I don’t think anyone has posted about this, and I only just noticed that Building B (the office/lab building next to the Everett Street bridge) is getting a redesign. I like what they’re proposing. https://m.box.com/shared_item/https%3A%2F%2Fbpda.box.com%2Fs%2F8nge4pm37xazxx5cef52o0zjn0mx6fqy

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

Has anyone been paying attention to the transitway proposal for Western Ave (in Allston-Brighton)? It’s really ambitious and exciting (imo). To make room for protected bike lanes and the transitway, on-street parking will be eliminated (along western Ave.) and cars would be limited to one lane...

Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

When I went back to verify, I found most references to the venue describing it as “separate from” or “adjacent to” the track. I was definitely doubting myself until I found the plans. I love walking through and watching the developments at Boston Landing, but it definitely has an *empty...

    Fantasy T maps

Thank you F-Line and JeffDowntown! I admittedly am quite ignorant about the blue line and the north shore generally, so this is interesting and helpful.

Does Electrification and increased frequency on the Newburyport/Rockport line make Blue line extension to Lynn a lower priority or even redundant?

Other People's Rail: Amtrak, commuter rail, rapid transit news & views outside New England

Oh, I didn’t know whether East-West rail would be MBTA, Amtrak, or something else.

Other People's Rail: Amtrak, commuter rail, rapid transit news & views outside New England

Dare I hope for a second option for direct train service to Albany? Universal Hub reports that CSX and Amtrak have come to an agreement allowing more service between Boston and Albany. Could this help or hurt East-West rail?

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

This is no longer on the BPDA website. I saw it when it was and it looked fine.

We need to put a sticker on that map to reflect the newly condensed “Unmoored street” and “Bad Uncle Street” stops. 😋

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I’m curious about the need and feasibility of reinstating the A-line. I guess the need is as simple as “all neighborhoods need transit!” But I have a hard time seeing how to fit a train on the part of that route past St. Elizabeth’s without elevating it or burying it. I can’t see a train...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Emphatic NO to this B-line realignment. Washington street used to be my home stop, so there’s the base instinct of “Don’t get rid of my stop!” But beyond that there would be a fair amount lost eliminating the stops between Warren and Chestnut Hill. 1) it moves the rapid transit from a dense...

Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Yeah, I noticed that after posting 😒 though I still think between the Lantera and Allston Yard (Stop and Shop redevelopment) it’s going to seem stubby.

Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

I’m a little disappointed by the NPC for the Hotel at Boston landing. The proposal is about half as tall is its allowed to be. I would have liked it to have been as tall as the lantera next door. In my experience Allston-Brighton can use all the hotel space we can get.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

Before the lockdown I remember there being some momentum toward electrification of the CR. Has there been any progress?
