At what point does the T finally cut their losses on this and just cancel the Red Line order and rebid? I'd think they could expedite the process and RFP given all of the work already done.

Mattapan line shutdown seems a bit out of left field. Don't remember reading about track issues/slow zones on it before.

Yeah, and at least the original plan had them addressing these before the rollout, but, it is the T, so who knows if they will or not.

Personally, I imagine something more subway-esque like the E233-2000, especially on the Fairmont line (and really anything inside 128 doing 5-15 minute headways).

Plan is always to run up to two car consists, depending if the line has long enough platforms (d & e initially, I think, with b&c being only one car until until the stations are eventually all lengthened.)

Bit old, but: is this true? My understanding is that the State controls all 357 cities and town licensing the same, by setting the number of licenses available to each city/town. The only difference with Boston is that the per capita number of licenses is much lower than the actual demand, hence...

Yeah the new Ritz was really the corner stone of revival of lower Washington St. Also helped around the same time the city was able to repurpose all of the street cameras setup for the DNC around Chinatown to proactively start to clean things up.

Cause I find the erosion of Roxbury interesting. As gentrification pushes South, the South End magically grows, and Roxbury magically shrinks. Same with Savin Hill: I've seen real estate agents push that all the way out to Upham's corner. So, yeah, Roxbury ends at Mass Ave, and the South End...

Anyone know if the redo of Back Bay Station as part of this includes finally getting full highs on all the tracks?

Not even the South End, it's Roxbury. I'd imagine if the green line was actually extended down Washington St, instead of the Silver Line, though, that this would have been done years ago. I would argue, though, that it isn't quite on Methadone Mile, so not sure how much that proximity effects...

Yeah, this has moved with progress in forever as far as I could tell whenever driving by. This would be very disappointing and the City needs to take a strong stance against the developer if so.
