You know what would be great: redo district zoning for density around the square and have new linkage to fund an Orange Line +1 extension to give the Square and Rozzie actual rapid transit (well, as rapid as our subways currently are at least).

I don't think there is anything official. The red line at least does have (very ancient) ATC already. I believe the new signaling systems would be able to eventually support more automation. Afaik in the US there are no (actual subway) systems that do.

If we are being honest - 2035 is probably pretty optimistic for the project in general at this point. 2035 is probably good timing for a station.

Well at this rate we are only 2 years out for the orange line to be complete and 10 years for the Red (assuming the orange needs to wrap up and a ~30 cars a year clip).

In defense of the garage, afaik it was built in the 60s during the heyday of urban renewal and razing of the surrounding areas. I will say from a bit of time in the industry: never use OTAs for air travel, always book directly through the carrier. Vastly superior custom service if things go wrong, and the carrier sets pricing so will also generally be the best deal.

On the trees: why not just go evergreens? At least they would be green year round (and could have some fun holiday decorations).
