    Worcester Ballpark & Redev

Significant site prep work now underway both on the ballpark site and the apartment/condo development site across the street. A small army of workers with excavators and reticulated dump trucks are tearing up the ground and moving stuff around. They look very busy indeed.

Tearing this down feels ludicrously unacceptable.

I'm surprised the Hynes isn't doing well. It always seems busy and even for a 30 year old venue it's quite nice inside (has it really not been at least updated a bit over the years? it's being maintained well, at least). I've been to a couple health care conferences there and thought it was a...

Within a few blocks of the Olympia are: the DCU, Mechanics Hall, the Hanover Theatre, and the Palladium. There was also a relatively large stage outdoor concert series this summer in the parking lot behind the Palladium. I'm guessing that continues going forward since it seemed well-attended...

There isn't much of an Italian community left, is there? Some of them are still around but aging and evaporating, and the kids mostly took off or don't latch onto the Italian identity like their parents/grandparents did. And whoever is still going to church, a number shrinking every year, moved...

10 World Trade | BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | Seaport

I didn't realize they were building across the street on that triangular parcel. That's tremendous and will really help with what would otherwise be a weird dead zone. Build build build.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

What's the deal with that lot anyway? I'm assuming it can be developed. Does the owner just want waaaaay too much money?

That single lane traffic is going to be a dumpster fire in the morning. People are constantly stopping to drop off for the courthouse, and the courthouse parking lot which is right there is a disaster in terms of getting cars off the street and into the lot during rush hour.

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

C'mon. They're getting rid of about 5 rows of seats that are a mile from the diamond. Fenway has tons of terrible seats, including these, and upgrading them to tables along with building in additional concession and bathroom space is a nice improvement to the park. There's absolutely an...

Making that street a pedestrian mall makes sense. It's a low traffic street and the triangle with the fountain and columns is a pedestrian dead zone. There's a coffee shop and a nice lunch spot (Theatre Cafe) right in that area too. I think they could create the pedestrian mall while keeping the...

One Kenmore Square | 560 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

It is right now but that area needs to get A LOT bigger. There are a few large projects coming within a block or two.

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

"Intrusive" and "redesign" are a bit much. It's a few rows of the worst seats in the park for some tables and chairs that might actually be nice to use during a game. It's not like they're leveling the bleachers and moving the triangle in 20 feet. Wait until the Sox someday get to the point...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Is the other tower going up now? I thought they were waiting for a tenant... but I may be misremembering.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I like the JFK towers, they just need to be cleaned. Losing the lowrise doesn't feel like a loss. It's just a short, bland, boxy, concrete thing that hulks next to the plaza. FWIW, in its current state I suspect it will actually frame the garage tower developments well from city hall plaza area...

FWIW, a bunch of restaurants opened downtown directly around the Common over the past few months: - 110 Grill (upscale chain restaurant with a decent hotel bar in the AC Marriott) - Fuel (coffee shop with a few beer taps) - Revolution Pie & Pint (pizza and bar, and trying to get a comedy club...

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

I think it looks great. They're only removing only 6 rows from the CF/RF portion of the bleachers (not the little triangular peak under the scoreboard): I've been up there before, the seats are miles away. I like Fenway overall but it's not a particularly comfortable place to see a game...

[CANCELED] 1000 Boylston Street | MassDOT Parcel 15 | Back Bay

Will they be doing the decking for all three projects at the same time, or at least consecutively?

Spiral staircases look great and suck at being staircases.
