⚪ Boston Freedom Wheel | Long Wharf? | Waterfront

Why was this labeled "Freedom" Wheel? That's not mentioned in the article. Is it some bizarre political statement that has no place here? I don't get it.

One Kenmore Square | 560 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square IIRC red light cameras hit the political bandwidth at some point in the past but many people a) seem to instinctively think the cameras ripe for abuse, and b) are aware the traffic cameras in Rhode Island were a high profile...

One Kenmore Square | 560 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square If there was a case about red-light cameras I can't find it easily. Got a link for that?

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

They're all kind of bad, aren't they? Like overgrown corporate office park landscaping stuff.

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

Right, it's like the Chicago bean, but complex and ugly. Reminds me of one of those animated bits where a bunch of hands reach out from hell and pull someone in. Detached arms are always weird.

    The New Retail Thread

I don't think you should be throwing the phrase "economic anxiety" around so carelessly. It's become strongly associated with people who are white supremacists.

10 World Trade | BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | Seaport

Re: Massport Parcel A2 | Seaport I'm pretty sure it's at the intersection of Congress and B St. but on the convention center side. The parcel with the curved on-ramp curling around it along World Trade Center Avenue.

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

it looks like a bunch of disfigured noodle arms.

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals The space in that picture would be fine if they knocked down City Hall.

    Copyright and Bird Law Lawyerings

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay Yea, this. And then there is the threat to notify the photographer. There's something unsettling about that post/comment on a magnitude many times beyond a single instance of alleged copyright infringement. There's malicious intent...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

This. The architecture of the "people who sent men to the moon" is unhuman garbage and nothing would bring me more joy than leveling it and wiping its memory from the city landscape. It is a complete failure as anything functional and basically just some sort of insane oppressive city-scale...

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Whiskey Priest/Atlantic Beer Garden Redevelopment | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport Interesting is one word for it. I'm assuming most people don't know who Bradley Campbell is (or the CLF) but he and his organization went through a wood chipper in the paper of record in the city today. The CLF...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Ridiculous. Worcester would kill for something that tall and that good. It's twice the height of anything in Worcester and much better designed (yea, Worcester's three "towers" aren't exactly lookers). I liked the old design better, fwiw. I don't hate this one.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower Can't this be said about most latter-half 20th century styles that were designed around a concept rather than what people might actually find attractive to look at? A lot of this stuff looks good enough in a render or model but full-scale in the city and it's a...

Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

I went by a few weeks ago and think it's inoffensive in person, at least when viewed from Post Office Square. You don't really notice it because it blends into the other buildings unless you're trying to look at it. Zoomed pictures highlight it in the worst possible way IMO. I didn't see it...

DOT Parcels | 25-28 Kneeland Street | Chinatown

I think he's suggesting the optics and/or potential future ramifications of a bid that is extremely low compared to the desired asking price would be bad.

The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

Reading the comments section of any online news-like publication/article is generally a life mistake. Only crazy (likely also older) people hang out there. You're basically filtering for the most deranged responses possible.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District Nah, I don't think so. Boston City Hall is an inhuman monstrosity. This thing looks like it will just be a towering mediocrity. It will fade into the skyline and people will mostly forget or never know that it was a missed opportunity.

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Whiskey Priest/Atlantic Beer Garden Redevelopment | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport Another waterfront park. It's hard to yawn hard enough at that. If the developer is going to be shaken down for $13M then it should only be by the city as part of some sort of coherent plan for the future.
