Winter Garden | 100 Federal St. | Financial District

Wait... so are there trees and large plants in there, or is it just seating?

    Silver Line to Chelsea

I hope for the best, there's a been a lack of solution-oriented thinking when it comes to transit problems in MA. Less "This is how we could potentially fix it..." and more "This is why it can't be done..." The ramp worked in 2006. It's proven itself in revenue service. It was built as part of...

Exchange South End ( Boston Flower Exchange) | Albany Street | South End

I'll be really happy if they actually plant that many trees (and let them grow without chopping them down later). The modern aversion to providing ample shade in public spaces always seems weird to me.

Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downtown

Why wasn't Emerson aware of the structural deficiencies when it spent an enormous sum of money to renovate the LB just a few years ago? I don't believe it was being used for that long before they woke up to the fact it was falling apart. It seems like something they should've known and acted on...

The Beverly (née Merano) (Parcels 1B & 1C) | Bulfinch Triangle | West End

The Marriott side looks cheap as hell.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District It's mandatory these days to incorporate at least 3 or 4 clashing facade styles in your design.

New Red and Orange Line Cars

Best idea yet. Who could turn down the interior of rich Corinthian wood?

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

It has to be soon. The fireproofing is being applied now.

    Parcel Q1 | 2 Drydock Ave. | Seaport

Re: Parcel Q1 | 10 Drydock Ave. | Seaport The tunnels are narrower than they may seem from a passenger's POV. It's difficult to increase speed without increasing the chance of a bus jumping the curb on either side and slamming into a wall. I believe the Globe sent a reporter through the...

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Whiskey Priest/Atlantic Beer Garden Redevelopment | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport Some surface texture would go a long way. I understand that sometimes you just gotta VE, but this one is threatening to turn into yet another Seaport glass box.

South End Infill and Small Developments

I love how this goes from "lovely" to "nobody will notice if we use something cheaper up here" to "hell, who cares?"

Mixed Use Complex | 345 Harrison Ave | South End

The façade looks like a pile of leftovers. There's no coherence to it, and the proportions feel really, really off to me.

Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downtown

Joke's on you! The plastic sheeting will come down and the whole thing will be replaced by a tower of shining, sterile Alucobond and offset windows, with every three panes wrapped in a gigantic frame to hide the fact the building is as tall as it ever was.

Condo + Retail Project | 124-126 Salem Street | North End

I actually love the brick that bookends the disaster in the middle.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

The Staties would get over it, eventually. The benefits to the public would last for decades. If more people in the State House used transit, then you would see low hanging fruit like this addressed pretty quickly. No politician can fix the system by edict alone (and they probably shouldn't)...

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

If you recall, in 2009 / 2010 the T had to shut down the portal at Fenway and block the tunnel with sandbags. It was said that after 1996, they bought a plug to seal the portal completely in a dire flooding emergency. If it exists, it's never been used... but climate change will probably force...

Pier 4 Condo Building (Former Anthony's site) | Seaport

Thanks, BeeLine! Same. It looks fascinating, but I can't picture it over the whole exterior. I'm crossing my fingers for this one and Parcels M1 / M2.
