Is there a plan to replace any of the windows with stained glass? I think this building works well, but a stained glass panel, specifically in the circular window over the front door, would really tie together the brickwork and slate roof with a "this is a church, built for the ages" statement...

I stayed with my wife in the Yotel near Hell's Kitchen earlier this year. Had the same room layout with the glass wall. Was fun. Just send your roomie down to the lobby to get coffee or drinks as necessary.

I like the color, but the dimensions of the "brick" panels are so clearly not masonry (too slim, too tall) that it screams fakery. Like the vinyl wood grain stickers put on the sides of 80's era station wagons.

The apartment roofline will match up with the original roofline of the Converse building, just not the 2 story plus mech glassy bump out. And note that the Converse addition steps back, so if the apartment matched it's full height, it would likely need to step back too. This is much less jarring...

I think this building turned out reasonably well, and it complements the ICA. But holy hell does the emergency generator (or whatever mechanical that is) on top of the ICA drive me crazy--could someone at least paint the damn exhaust pipe black??
