^just about perfect, save the height of the floors.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

^Agreed, and blocking the Sheraton makes the Christian Science tower look better. Very nice collection of eras in that shot, with the weakest of the four big towers being Menino's Hat.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Huh. That guy who bought 12 condos in Millennium lives in my condo development in Concord. Always wondered what he did for work.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Nice streetwall shaping up. And I'm glad to see they left room to lay the tracks for the future trolley line that will run from the cruise terminal, across the channel and then North to Charlestown. In my dreams.

Our Lady of Good Voyage | Seaport Sq Parcel H | 55 - 57 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Is there a plan to replace any of the windows with stained glass? I think this building works well, but a stained glass panel, specifically in the circular window over the front door, would really tie together the brickwork and slate roof with a "this is a church, built for the ages" statement...

    Harvard - Allston Campus

I believe that particular ABP was one of the first in the chain, and had been there since 1984. I am sure I went there in 1985, and at that time it had really good, freshly made breads, and was a welcome, relatively serene spot across the street from the Pit at the T headhouse. The outdoor...

The Harlo (née Skanska Fenway Project (Burger King))| 1350 Boylston Street | Fenway

Re: Skanska Fenway Project (Burger King) | 1350 Boylston Street | Fenway That appears to be a super tidy construction site.

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

F-Line, I'm consistently astounded by your knowledge on these rail and trail issues. I'd be grateful for your thoughts on how to close a gap in the system. Currently, the Reformatory Branch ends in Concord Center, the Bruce Freeman will bisect West Concord, and the Assabet River Rail Trail will...

Radius Apartments (née The Icon née Western Av Residence) | 530 Western Av | Brighton

Re: The Icon (née Western Ave Residence) | 530 Western Ave | Brighton I read it the same way. It's not terrible branding; rather, poor sign design. Plus, "The Icon" for a 4 story apartment building in Brighton? Seems a tad fancy. But I do like the architecture.

^will they add the window air conditioning units before or after they finish the facade?

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Whiskey Priest/Atlantic Beer Garden Redevelopment | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport This discussion reminds me of Jane Jacobs' arguments against wholesale urban renewal. A city needs a mix of old buildings, because it needs Class B and C space so businesses that can only afford cheap leases can...

Novartis Campus | 181-211 Mass Ave, 22 Windsor Street | Kendall Square | Cambridge

I think all parts here, taken as a whole, are very interesting and handsome. I don't like that blank glass wall along Mass. Ave--hopefully they'll pull down the coverings and the interior will engage with the street in some way. The juxtaposition in the first picture of what I'm sure was an...

    Harvard - Allston Campus

Wait, wut?! "The site could also eventually feature a 35-acre air-rights development over the highway and rail yard that would both mask the railroad presence and “knits the neighborhood together,” Harvard said in its August presentation."

Yotel Hotel | SPSQ parcel J | 65 Seaport Blvd | South Boston Waterfront

I stayed with my wife in the Yotel near Hell's Kitchen earlier this year. Had the same room layout with the glass wall. Was fun. Just send your roomie down to the lobby to get coffee or drinks as necessary.

    ACKS | Alexander Center Kendall Sq. | 50 Binney | E Cambridge

I like the color, but the dimensions of the "brick" panels are so clearly not masonry (too slim, too tall) that it screams fakery. Like the vinyl wood grain stickers put on the sides of 80's era station wagons.

Lovejoy Wharf | 131 Beverly Street | West End

The apartment roofline will match up with the original roofline of the Converse building, just not the 2 story plus mech glassy bump out. And note that the Converse addition steps back, so if the apartment matched it's full height, it would likely need to step back too. This is much less jarring...

    Goodwin Procter HQ @ Fan Pier | 90 - 110 Northern Ave - Parcel I | Seaport

I think this building turned out reasonably well, and it complements the ICA. But holy hell does the emergency generator (or whatever mechanical that is) on top of the ICA drive me crazy--could someone at least paint the damn exhaust pipe black??
