    Watson-Health Expansion | Kendall Square

Watson Health won't be going into the Rogers Street office--it's only one floor (down from the two buildings of the Lotus years) and that office is full. I also very strongly doubt it will go into the exurbs like the Littleton development lab. IBM can be ruthless in saving money by sticking...

    Watson-Health Expansion | Kendall Square

IBM has a very large facility in Littleton, and some space in Cambridge, plus a few other smaller offices around the Boston area. I would guess they will lease new space for this initiative in Cambridge or Longwood. I doubt they're looking for data center space--this will likely be client...

    Norman B. Leventhal

If I'm not mistaken, Mr. Leventhal provided all the maps on display in the Boston Harbor Hotel. For that, and his wonderful park in PO Square, I will remember him.

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

Whoops, didn't mean to start a flame war on homelessness. Glad I missed out on that fun. For what it's worth, I also don't care for benches designed to prevent laying down. I was only making the observation on the design. I'm also well aware of the prior museum proposal. I think there were a lot...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

I fully agree. The Greenway is becoming really successful, and unlike most parks, instead of being created and then slowly decaying through neglect, it is clearly improving with each passing year. One comment--while I like the new benches, without the center armrest of the existing benches...

MBTA Winter 2015: Failure and Recovery

It's also worth noting that when there's a blizzard, schools shut down and daycare centers close. I'd guess the majority of T workers' jobs can't be done remotely, and I'd also guess some T employees have children and are either single parents or both parents work. There's no magic wand for that...

    Fenway Infill and Small Developments

Please pile on and tell me what a dope I am, but I think 30 stories is too tall for the Point site. I'd prefer to see this more in scale with the Sears building, with a shape that reflected the shape of the lot better--something that says "this cool-ass neighborhood begins with this wedgy bit...

The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

Re: 110 Broad St. (The Times/Littlest Bar) The Littlest Bar is in a Bullfinch building. If they don't save it, or even do a facadectomy, it will be a real shame. It needs to be preserved.

Boylston West @ Fenway Triangle (Van Ness) | 1325 Boylston Street | Fenway

Re: Boylston West @ Fenway Triangle (Goodyear Tire) | 1325 Boylston Street | Fenway I wish there was a plan to put a theater in this building--it reminds me of stacked film reels.

One Greenway (Parcel 24) | 0 Kneeland Street | Chinatown

Yeah, I like this one a lot. The texture is key for these colors. This one is my current sleeper hit for what's going up now. Background building, but with broad shoulders. I've said it before, but it reminds me of a canyon wall, which is very appropriate for this location.

Quincy Market Update/Renovation | Faneuil Hall Marketplace | Downtown

Re: Update Planned for Faneuil Hall This plan sounds great. I wish part of the plan was a re-do of the building on the east end that was designed to wall off 93. I imagine we're stuck with that unfortunate tower between the greenway and the South Hall, but I'd support knocking down the crescent...

    BU Development Thread

I was once told that Menino had half the interior lights in City Hall turned off to drive home the message to city employees that the city had no money and couldn't afford more expensive labor contracts. Granted, I was told this by a city employee, so take it for what it's worth. At any rate...

    Biking in Boston

How will flex posts effect plowing? Will they plow the road and then the bike lane? Or just use the bike lane for snow storage?

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital | Navy Yard | Charlestown

I hope this is land banking. If they were building out new medical spaces or labs, I'd be worried, but I hope that once MGH finishes the current dev plan for their main campus, this thing will get the boot.

Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex Concord has been burying their power lines. This is possible because it's a town-owned utility and in the 80s they got approval from the town residents for a 50 year plan to bury all lines. They approximately 50% done. Adds a buck or two to my...

    Biking in Boston

Arlington--you're spot on. Cars can make otherwise nice people behave poorly by giving them sense of protection and, I'd argue, power. I used to have a very, very long bike commute, part of which was out in the sticks on two lane roads with no shoulder. The commute justified making an...

    Continuum | Barry's Corner | Allston

Re: Barry's Corner Commons and renaming Barry's Corner ^This is why all buildings should be surrounded by acres of green space and parking lots--to catch the cranes! If this was an accident, it sure was a lucky one.

Re: NorthPoint Cambridge (The one that was train yards, the big plan.) Looks like a gussied up Stuyvesant Town to me.
